Is this a silly idea??? FC-40 feeding an ATAS-25

Hi folks, I'm new round here

I use an FT 897d and have recently come by an atas-25 (the manual
version of an atas 120)

I was wondering about feeding the atas-25 via the fc40 to avoid the
manual tuning or am I just being plain silly!
