Re: microphone question
What do you mean "we?" ?While I've heard about it I have never experienced the alleged problem. ?I route the mic cord under the belt clip and put the retention ring around the base of the antenna

Re: 80 feet
My first FT-60R lasted me 8 years and took a lot of falls - no damage other than scratches. The Final amp went out eventually and I purchased a new one. Its not perfect but its a great and sturdy HT.

80 feet
This weekend my FT-60R went up a tower. At about 80 feet it became detached from the climber, and came down with a "wack" sound. It landed in a rocky dirty area. The belt clip was bent, the squelch

Re: microphone question
It really amazes me that in 2015 we still have to use a broccoli rubber band on these radios. Yaesu has had years to tweak the design of this radio to resolve this issue, yet they never have. This is

Re: microphone question
This is what I use. I do not take it on and off. It has made it through many events clipped on to my belt, pants or jacket pocket. Get the right sized wire holder so it holds the wire tight when

Re: microphone question
Hi Peter Just as Oscar - KK6PNQ noted about the mic wire and the belt clip I would suggest you get one of these rubber bands that bunches the broccoli together. Then you can add this to the plug

Re: Charging Stand
You can also use a 12 volt battery eliminator, or a mobile radio, of course. Jardy Dawson WA7JRD Nobody really cares what device you are using, as long as YOU like it!

Re: Charging Stand
As has been discussed, the radio does not easily go into the charger, but practice helps. Per the manual, the PA-48 does not charge the battery in the USA model AND the PA-48 is not designed to power

Re: Efficient ear bud?
If you get one of the ones from ebay take a utility knife and shave off some of the rubber from around the tip of the plug. This will let the plug seat all the way into the radio. ?K3CLT Chuck Tobias

If you look on ebay you can find a ear bud set up like the police use. They have the coil piece that goes in the ear and is very comfortable. They come from China and are around 10-15 bucks.I has a

Hi Garry The error message tells me that Commander is written in some version of Visual Basic programming language. The error you describe tells you that an object (most probably the radio) was not

Re: Efficient ear bud?
Since use a speaker mic with my FT60 It has a jack in the mic right next to where the cord goes in to bottom. I plug in a mono ear bud. I have to use the type of ear bud that hangs in the ear.

Re: Efficient ear bud?
No, you need to use the earbuds together with the Yaesu external speaker mic. To transmit & receive without the speaker mic I use the Yaesu earbud mic.
