Carl, I use a MacBook Air and the only way for programming from the Mac side is Chirp. There may be others. VMWare Fusion and a virtual Window 7 machine is how I handle many of the Ham Radio programs

I have a FT-60r and use the Yaesu Programming software and cable. Their part number ADMS-1J. It provides the programming cable and the Software from RT Systems. No issues, it works. USD $39.95

Hi Larry and All This should go to Yaesu and ask them to contract with some one to produce a neat case for the FT-60 already. I live in San Francisco, and we have at least two "bag" manufacturers.
