Re: connecting to FT-60 commander?

开云体育

Jardy,
Thank you for your attention and suggestions.

Don't think I have seen an "alternate write method", or at least don't know how to...

Device manager >Ports... >Prolific... >
Properties > General "...device working properly" >Driver v3.8.31.1

I believe that is the correct cable. I have another which DM identifies only as FTDI.
Do they use different drivers? They call for different available com ports.

Consistent with my age tendencies (old), I am using Win7.

The Miklor.com site seems like a good resource. I will try the older driver.

I get to a window which says hold down PTT, in doing that I see "listening" on screen, but nothing else loads or occurs after that.

Any suggestions?

Clint,
Thanks for your attention.

Forgot what it is actually called, but it is the cable for this purpose, with the correct built-in adapter. (bought it about a year or so ago). It is not marked.

Is there a way to test it, otherwise?

Re: Microphone adapter/splitter?

Yaesu CT-44 may work for you.

I am a big fan of keeping things simple. If you're not recording, slow scan TV, you can just slip your smart phone in your shirt pocket with a voice recorder running.

Microphone adapter/splitter?

I’m looking for an adapter/splitter that can be used to connect to a digital recorder and still use the handheld microphone. Basically a y-adapter that can split the audio off to the line-in on the recorder. ?Does Yaesu or anyone else make something like this?

Re: Differences between an FT-60 and a FT-60R?

I confirm that. Thank you.

I guess Yaesu didn't want to bear the cost of another front panel and another box for the US.

Can't Program Yaesu FT-60 From Keyboard

开云体育

Hi Clint,

Yes I do.

I can not program my FT-60R from the keyboard anymore.
And yes, I know how to do it. I have had the radio for many years and recently tried to set up another bank for a special event.
The radio will no longer accept any manual programming.
I read somewhere that the memory programming either gets corrupted or the memory chip goes (programming) faulty.
And that the firmware cannot be rewritten via the normal programming port the way modern Chinese radios can.
Otherwise the radio works fine. I can use existing memory locations and Banks fine and VFO operation is fine. I just can't program new channels.

Any assistance welcome.

The FT-60 ships with Nickle Metal Hydride batteries.? If the new batteries are also NiMH you should be able to use the same charger.? If you’ve updated your battery to Lithium ion batteries you’ll need a new charger.? The old charger will be bad for Li-ion batteries and could cause a fire.

You’re right. That’s how long it’s been. What4ever it was shipped with, I changed it to something newer. My question STILL is, am I OK or do I need to change the charger? It’s been working fine.

If it has been working all of those years, my suggestion is to just keep using it as you have been. :)

My radio is in the car, so I’m not sure if the battery I have that replaced the original NiCd pack is a Li-I or a NiMH. I’m thinking more likely the NiMH. I’ve been using the same original drop-in charger that came with the radio when I got it back in 2007. Should I NOT be using that charger and I should get the “correct” charger?
