Don't think I have seen an "alternate write method", or at least don't know how to...

Device manager >Ports... >Prolific... >Properties > General "...device working properly" >Driver v3.8.31.1

I believe that is the correct cable. I have another which DM identifies only as FTDI.
Do they use different drivers? They call for different available com ports.

Consistent with my age tendencies (old), I am using Win7.

The Miklor.com site seems like a good resource. I will try the older driver.
