Re: Screen protector?
Hello From what I am reading I am thinking that the screen broke due to something that a phone screen protector would not add much protection. I may be wrong and if I am sorry but I think what you

Re: Screen protector?
Obsolete ones for discontinued phones will be very inexpensive. Most of these are larger than the FT-60 screen. I would suggest cutting to size first. Also round the corners so it is less likely to

Re: Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
Thank you all for comments and suggestions. Kevin and Chuck were right: It was an old PL-259 center pin casing from another antenna that stayed in the radio. Your comments pointed me in the right

Re: Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
I think that means that the USA version uses an SO-239 wow the European version uses a different connector, probably an "N" connector. Dan, NR6V

Re: Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
The so-239 is a standard specification. The best advice is to first ascertain whether a different? pl-259 (male) connector will fit or not. Many times the solder job at the tip of the pl-259

Re: Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
I suspect the "USA Version" is not the connector itself but rather it indicates the US Version of the radio uses an SO-239 connector.

Re: Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
Chris, That would take a lot of filing, and doing it carefully would take a lot of time. I may have to resort to that in the end, but I am going to explore other solutions. The specs for the FT-8800

Before boring. drilling or reducing pin size find another PL-259 and verify it will not fit in the SO-239 connector. I have worked with SO-239's and PL-259's for nearly 60 years and the only time they

Pl-259 connector wit thin centre pin?
This question relates to the Yaesu FT-8800, not to the FT-60. Sorry about the intrusion, but I know that there are some very knowledgeable hams on this group, and I hope someone will be able to help
