The so-239 is a standard specification. The best advice is to first ascertain whether a different? pl-259 (male) connector will fit or not. Many times the solder job at the tip of the pl-259 connector is a bit sloppy and needs to be filed down. However, if the difference is great, then you may have a foreign item stuck in your so-239 receptacle or an adapter is attached.
