This question relates to the Yaesu FT-8800, not to the FT-60. Sorry about the intrusion, but I know that there are some very knowledgeable hams on this group, and I hope someone will be able to help me. Thank you in advance.
The diameter of the chassis SO-239 socket on my Yaesu FT-8800 is too small to accommodate the centre pin of the PL-259 connector from my antenna coax (It worked until a couple of months ago, but I recently moved and now there is no way I can fit the PL-259 pin into the SO-239 socket; I know it sounds crazy, and it is driving me crazy, but the diameter of the SO-239 on my FT-8800 is definitely smaller than on a couple of other radios I have, and smaller than on a HS05 cable I use with one of my handhelds).
Any suggestion?
Where can I find PL-259 connectors with a thinner (less fat) centre pin, or an adapter connector with thinner PL-259 to regular SO-239?
