Re: S-meter Lamp for the FT-101ZD
Bruce: I will assume the 6146B are not equivalent to the 6156? Also, please note that I have one of the late models of ft-102 just before the FT-101B came into production as I currently understand it

Thanks Bruce. I will continue to see if any of the collectors I know might have one in a junk box somewhere. I have landed my hands on a new set of 6164 tubes which are believed to probably fit the

Re: Early FT101 Serial Numbers
John, Yes, your radio is as marked on the front panel just above the tuning dial, FT-101. The 101B was not introduced until early 1974 and these have FT-101B on the front panel. Yours is the correct

Hi John, Peter is correct, why there is an 8 in front of the 3 is anybody’s guess, as for it being a ZD version, the ZD is a totally different radio. The main thing is you have an FT101 and have

John, Your radio was made in 1973. There were no FT-101 radios (with no suffix) made in 1983. The last 5 digits of the number on the back plate are the actual serial number, so 33037 in your case. It
