Help needed for FT-101EE
Hello group, My 101EE has taken ill and I need your help with troubleshooting. I'll try to lay out the events chronologically in order to explain what's going on. * Unit was used primarily on 80m

Antenna Tuner
Did Yaesu ever make a matching antenna tuner for the FT-101 series transceiver?

Re: FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
I wonder if the tube shield would just hit the ant loading capacitor shaft. ?

Re: FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
To shield the bottom portion of the tube. This was not an uncommon practice. 73 -Jim NU0C "Tony VA7TF, VE7ACF" <20junk20@...> wrote:

Re: FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
I wouldn't put a shield over the 12BY7 as they run very hot as is. I suspect that the designers found that they got the required amount of shielding required with just the lower part of the tube

Re: FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
Hi Mike, No need to get a shield. Both of my FT101s came with a tube base that could take a shield, but neither one came with a shield. If you had a shield that would fit in your junk box, I don’t

Re: FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
All the FT-101 series I have owned and still own, there was never a shield covering the 12BY7. Unknown why Yaesu used that type of socket. Regards, Tony VA7TF VE7ACF. Sent: December

FT-101EE shield for 12BY7?
Hello again group, On my FT-101EE, I see that the tube socket for the 12BY7 driver tube is designed for a bayonet type metal shield. Is this factory design? or did someone in the past modify??

Re: FT101EE Mystery cut wire
Hi Roger, I dont think it is/was for the speech processor. My EE came pre wired for the user to install an SP if desired. All my SP wires are brought up to where the board would be

Re: FT101EE Mystery cut wire
Hi Mike, The FT-101EE didn't come with a speech processor. Possibly the wire was left for adding the processor later on. 73 Roger VE7LB

FT101EE Mystery cut wire
Inspecting my 101EE, I discovered a wire that apparently at some point got snipped. I cannot see anything that looks like where it was originally supposed to go. It's located under the PB-1092

Thanks to all who replied. I think I'll take the readings with both high & low impedance meters and see if there's any noticeable difference.Again...thanks!MikeKD7VRGTucson, AZ

Re: FT-101EE voltage measurements
Those voltages are nominal. Plus or minus 5% is fine. Use any voltmeter. Peter G0LQU Roger VE7LB wrote:

Re: FT-101EE voltage measurements
For measuring your transformer voltages all of your meters (VTVMs, modern DVMs, Simpson 260 etc.) will work fine. The accuracy will be determined by the calibration accuracy of each meter. Circuit

Re: FT-101EE voltage measurements
If you want to use a high impedence digital voltmeter, parrallel the VOM input probes with a 10k ohm resistor for up to 10 v. 50k for +10 to 50v, 250k for higher voltages. This will "load" the

Re: FT-101EE voltage measurements
To measure the output of a transformer a good dvm will do the job, just remember the off load voltages will be higher than when its connected and under load. I've just replaced the transformer on an
