Help needed for FT-101EE

Hello group,

My 101EE has taken ill and I need your help with troubleshooting.

I'll try to lay out the events chronologically in order to explain what's going on.

* Unit was used primarily on 80m achieving 100 watts out for about a year. No real issues
* Unit then sat unused for about six months.
* Unit brought back up but with considerably less power out (~20 watts max on 80m and far
??? less on higher bands.
* Checked the 12BY7 driver tube on a tester and it showed marginal.
* Replaced with another 12BY7 (tube had no markings, but was in a box labeled "12BY7' and
?? it had same form factor as 12BY7.
* About 5 seconds after turning heaters on, smoke appeared. Specific location of smoke source was not obvious.
* Turned unit off immediately after seeing smoke. (Maybe about two seconds worth of smoke)
*? Replacement tube was apparently NOT a 12BY7!!
* Upon extensive visual inspection, I cannot see ANY fried, melted, cracked, blackened,
?? or otherwise damaged components or wiring. Everything all *looks* normal.
*? Unit still receives perfectly fine, but...
*? Will not key the relays when PTT or MOX is activated. Stays in RCV mode.

I'm wondering if I can get some help with trying to figure out what got damaged
and what I should do to troubleshoot and get this thing back working.

Any help appreciated...
