ft101 Problem
I have an FT-101 that I used back in the 70s.? I was trying it out today with a long wire antenna.? I fired it up, tuned it in, everything went fine.? Then I moved it from one surface to another while it was on.? Bad Idea I guess.? It went dead as I was moving it.? There was a slight smell of burned electronics just for a second.? The smell didn't persist.
I checked and the power input fuse was blown.??I pulled off the case and examined it as carefully as I could.? Looked all through the power supply.? No sign of any arc or burned component.? Same everywhere else I could see.? At this point no smell of burned electronics. I got another fuse and decided to give it a try without the mic to make sure it didn't slip into transmit mode. Lights and fan came on, but no reception.? Silence.? Nothing on the s-meter. Anyone have any thoughts? --Kenoli |

开云体育Roger – the page individual facings are 258mm x 182mm ? Regret my skills are insufficient to do stuff like stitching together scans.? The page content made it difficult to get the final jpgs anything like the same size of file – again I have no clues about how this might be achieved.? In particular my scanner had great difficulty with the ‘rear’ page of the folded document <the almost all white ‘address’ page>.? To get it to scan I had to use a much lower dpi. ? Hope you can make something of them and they are of use... ? Think I will stick to Morse code! ? Alistair GM4ENF ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Roger VE7LB

Hi Alistair,
Thanks for all of the brochure scans and uploads. Just wondering what is the actual size of one of the 4 page photos? That would be a help in putting all the single pages together into a brochure. 73 Roger VE7LB |

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?
Allistair,
Yes the front page is there OK and it is still high res. I am not sure how many more 30 Mb pages you have. If it is 10 or less go ahead and upload them to the same folder. I'll leave them there, as is, for a week or two and then combine them into a more reasonably sized pdf. 73 Roger VE7LB |
Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?
Alistair That size of file will be too big to attach to a post and it will be too big to attach to a direct email as well. If you can do a file share and send the link to the OP,?that would be a successfully way.? 73 Don ve3ids On Fri., Nov. 26, 2021, 2:39 a.m. Alistair GM4ENF via , <alistairfyffe=[email protected]> wrote: I don't know much about the details behind scanning but I scanned the brochure page at 2400dpi with my Epson V750 scanner.? The original scan was over 1G which I reduced to around 30M before uploading it - Maybe the 'system' resizes images to prevent swamping (which would be understandable). I use the V750 to scan medium format transparencies, some for publication, and know that at 2400dpi the scanner is looking for detail not there on the originals!? If you are still interested maybe direct emailing might give you what you are looking for.? Alistair GM4ENF |

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?
The attachment above is of a really low resolution and size, so not sure if you have uploaded it somewhere else, I am after at least 600+ dpi or a file size per page of around 4-12Mb.
I am bidding a few from The USA on FleaBay, will cost a small fortune to get them sent here but at least I will be able to scan these. James |
Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?
The scan I have taken from the cover of the FT101ZD brochure is very large so hope it will load up here.? After approaching 41 years I have just realised the brochure I was given is for a version without WARC bands - despite my Set being WARC fitted.? If this is any good to you I will scan the rest of the brochure - but probably as smaller files.? Let me know.
