Re: Yaesu ft 101E no ALC indication on SSB
I have the same issue more or less. So, following this message too. I will follow advice given. May reach out to Peter...

Nestor the board is PB1547 Regulator. Thx Nestor ,
Turns out it was c11 dead short, burning out r40.
I am presently working on another 101 , the first one is a 101b, the one I am working on now is a 101e, and I am having problems as the regulator board is not the same as the schematics I have , the 6 volt rail on the VFO is not lighting a 6 volt rail, and falls to o volts on transmit,,the regulator is a pb 1547 or similar number, but different to the 101 b .
Is it possible to,obtain a circuit of this model ,with the different regulator, 101e, there must have been differences in these as they came out , and hard to repair without a circuit, I was trying to see which PIN number is feeding the 6 volt output,,and where does the voltage for this rail, come from, I see 13 .5 volts on I think pin 12 , but there must be a problem some where as no power in the 6 volt rail, it,lites the led and that’s about all, the PNP transistor checks out ok , and seems to,feed into an ic,but with out a circuit im at a loss to know what’s going on, if you have any info ide like to hear back from you.Brian .VK4PX. Hi all,,
Working on a very nice 101e, unfortunatly , R40 is burnt to a crisp, does any one have ny idea what the cause may be , meter tells me there is a dead short on the output side , 300 volts is on the input . Brian. VK4 PX.

Re: FT101E ALC / SSB help please
Radio is on the air and working.
Rewired the mic cable and changed out both relays.
Life is good!

Re: FT101E ALC / SSB help please
More information:
AM - No audio out. Producing a carrier. CW - It makes the tone nose, but it is not keying the radio. SSB - No audio or power out. No ALC indications.
So, I have multiple issues here.

Re: FT101E ALC / SSB help please
Thank you. The receiver is working fine. I replaced both relays so it's down to the ALC. The service manual is referencing me to the 1534 module on the top of the radio...there are several voltages I need to measure...Also, the light fuse in the back in not lighting up...so I'm assuming it is blown. From what I read, I thought that would shut of something...the number 1 and 2 wires are connected in the back.
More research...

Re: FT101E ALC / SSB help please
Hi Tom,
?
When the meter switch is set to ALC and you PTT, the meter should go to full scale at 5. ? The meter will deflect down scale from 5 depending on how loud you speak into the mic. ?The downward meter spikes indicate decrease in gain depending the peaking of your audio.
If you don’t see the dipping of the ALC when you are speaking then you may have to look at the ALC circuit underneath the PA tubes.

Re: FT-101B transmits 20 kHz off frequency
CLARIFIER ADJUSTMENT
The frequencies should coincide at CLARIFIER control OFF and 0 posi
tions In the receive mode . If not, adjust potentiomeTer VR4 located near
the clar ifier control potentiometer under the matn chassis until they do .
<See Fig. 7- 6).
Transmitter and receiver frequencies should coincide at the CLARIFiER
control OFF position. If not, adjust the ZERO potentiomeTer VR4 on PB1314A.
(This is VR3 on PB1547- see pages 5-22 and 5-33).

Hello all ... any advice gratefully accepted. ?Transmits approx 20kHz above receive frequency. ?Clarifier seems to work correctly . ?Do I start on the power board? ?Thanks

Re: FT-101B transmits 20 kHz off frequency
Sadly no help ....my clarifier voltage round about 1.6V not the
4.8 V in video.? My VFO jumps 20kHz on MOX or when I turn the
clarifier ON and zero it in the middle.? Beginning to suspect D13
adjacent to the clarifier control???

FT-101ZD VFO-Unit Assembly Gasket
In the process of removing the VFO unit to clean and re-lubricate the reduction vernier, apparently the gasket between the VFO unit and the front panel broke in two places. ?I don’t see any reference in the manuals to identify a part number so to see if Yaesu might have stock. ?This gasket provides a seal along the VFO unit edge, and I would like to replace it, if possible. ?Please let me know if you have any information or suggestions to replace the gasket.
?
Thank you,

Re: Yaesu ft-101b, looking for board pb-1186 on schematic
There is a seller on ebay that apparently has 11 of them for about $13 each.? I could not find the schematic in my files, and even FoxTango came up empty...
?
Good luck!

Is this what you mean? My FT101b has no raised lettering either. I thought this was normal.

Okay, here's a couple of pics of a FT-101FX dial bezel. I tried to capture the non-embossed nature of the lettering.
