Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

Thanks Roger.? I will wait to see if MD0MDI can use the scan I uploaded before scanning the remainder of the brochure - unless of course anybody else is interested in seeing this now ancient document!

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

Allistair,
Yes the front page is there OK and it is still high res. I am not sure how many more 30 Mb pages you have. If it is 10 or less go ahead and upload them to the same folder.
I'll leave them there, as is, for a week or two and then combine them into a more reasonably sized pdf.

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

Think I have managed to upload 30M file of FT101ZD brochure front page.? Any feedback on (1) whether in fact I have done this (2) If I indeed have is the image still high resolution.? Thanks.

Thanks guidance Roger - I am not much use with computer stuff but will see if I can work out what/how to do...

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

Hi Alistair,
If you have the file size down to 30 Mb just upload it to File folder 07 - FT-101ZD Files.

Alistair

That size of file will be too big to attach to a post and it will be too big to attach to a direct email as well. If you can do a file share and send the link to the OP,?that would be a successfully way.?

I don't know much about the details behind scanning but I scanned the brochure page at 2400dpi with my Epson V750 scanner.? The original scan was over 1G which I reduced to around 30M before uploading it - Maybe the 'system' resizes images to prevent swamping (which would be understandable). I use the V750 to scan medium format transparencies, some for publication, and know that at 2400dpi the scanner is looking for detail not there on the originals!? If you are still interested maybe direct emailing might give you what you are looking for.? Alistair GM4ENF

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

The group must think the files when you attached it as that image above is only 83kb in size and 488 x 347 pixels.

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

The attachment above is of a really low resolution and size, so not sure if you have uploaded it somewhere else, I am after at least 600+ dpi or a file size per page of around 4-12Mb.

I am bidding a few from The USA on FleaBay, will cost a small fortune to get them sent here but at least I will be able to scan these.

Re: FT-101ZD Brochure?

The scan I have taken from the cover of the FT101ZD brochure is very large so hope it will load up here.? After approaching 41 years I have just realised the brochure I was given is for a version without WARC bands - despite my Set being WARC fitted.? If this is any good to you I will scan the rest of the brochure - but probably as smaller files.? Let me know.

Hi Alistair,

The Higher the better really, so whatever you can do and upload would be great.

Re: Low Receive

This is exactly what my FT101Z is doing <see thread elsewhere on here> - only difference perhaps is that this happened suddenly with me.? Assistance from others on here has been much appreciated.? I would be interested to hear how you eventually fix your set....

Re: FW: [Yaesu-FT-101] Deaf FT101Z

Ah... here we have a? sticking point - I do not have an oscilloscope and only a fairly basic home made RF probe for my digital meter.? Although I understand the various circuit diagrams and the function of the components - and have repaired lots of old <thermionic tube> gear in the past - I don't think I would know what I was looking for here - that is unless my RF probe and Digital meter will show increase or absence of a signal.? I haver just made an extender board for the PB2154 so I can see what I might be doing(!) and will? see what I can do over the next day or so.
