I wonder if any of you Yaesu exerts know of a work around for the usually very expensive AM filter in the FT107m. Drake had a resistor across the filter pins as a cheap workaround. Thanks, Marc-k7wxk

I have a recently acquired FT-107m that works amazingly well, except the power out on 80m is a bit low. All other bands are 100w or better (10m slightly less). All tested into a 50 ohm dummy load. My questions are: What is the likely cause of this, and is there an adjustment for this? My experience is limited with SS gear, so I am not as up to snuff on it as I am with vacuum tube gear. I have the service manual. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marc-k7wxk

This is a linear power supply, so no need to worry about noise from a switching supply. The rear panel has a hardwired Kenwood power cable (6 pin molex connector) to connect directly to the TS-120/130/140/430/440/450 and others. Actually it will work fine with any rig that uses the 6 pin molex plug, including Icom and Yaesu and others. There are also "plus" and "minus" terminal outputs (10 Amps max) on the back, useful for a VHf/UHF rig. This one presently has a round 8 pin connector, obviously wired for Yaesu, which makes it usable on TenTec as well as other rigs. This one has the mic element replaced with a Heil HC-5, which is Heil's mic element with extra "punch" for working DX. This particular unit looks like new cosmetically, with no scratches or defects. Hi all the following is to generate a bit of traffic Although I am new to the group but I do not see any activity is this because we do not have any storage space to store associated literature to any of the articles ? or is it because most have there equipment and it does every think thy want so no help required Personal i fell in love with Yaesu at the age of 19 before that i could only admire the equipment my first encounter was the FT 220 being the first 2 mt all mode rig from then on I moved into a flat so aerials gave me a problem but more recently i was sad to have to by my next rig from Icom 9700 because Yaesu had not developed a multi mode rig for 2mt ,70 cm and 23 cm personal the 9700 has good points but icom have missed out a bit personal i think Yaesu could produce a winier as the market is crying out for a 4 band rig to do 2 mt to 13 cm as this will then cater for the growing satellite market but it will require video TX and RX ether included or from an associated computer the icing on the cake would be to include 4 mt as this would generate more activity on the band for the VHF operators Regards Paul
