Re: Yaesu FT450 ribbon cable fix
The little ribbon keeper tabs are add ons to the socket.
So if you can send a picture we can identify the socket size and type and find a matching socket to take the keeper tab off.

Re: Full Duty Cycle radios
I have used an FT-950, FTDX-3000, and FTDX-101D running SSTV, AM, and RTTY at full power with no issues. AM ran with a 25-watt carrier. If I am running a contest, I use an amplifier even if low power

Re: Full Duty Cycle radios
So, how would one know if there was a problem with the finals? Is there a test to see if they are OK?

Re: Full Duty Cycle radios
The way I look at it is it is not about specs it is about heat. That is why I love the temperature meter on the Ftdx101mp. I think most of the recent radios from Yaesu have that as part of the

Re: Full Duty Cycle radios
Yeah, what is the deal with that? My FT710 says it supports a 50% duty cycle, but then appears to retract that claim when running FT8, which I thought was almost exactly a 50% duty cycle.

Re: Full Duty Cycle radios
I was driving an AL-1200 so I could not overdrive the amp and got a good clean signal out. All yaesu radios must be carefully adjusted so they don't splatter. Very easy to do with a Yaesu. The newer

Full Duty Cycle radios
Has anyone seen a list, or have knowledge, of which Yaesu transceivers are rated for 100% power out for full duty cycle modes like RTTY and FM?

Re: Yaesu FT-710
Another thing to look at is your antenna. If too much RF is being reflected
back to the transmitter it might shut down to reduce the chance of damaging
the radio. I would use a good quality antenna

Re: Yaesu FT-710
This is my suspicion. Do you have ferrites on all the cables (power, USB, etc.)?
Digital modes are more likely to shut down your setup due to RF getting into the computer, radio, or even the power
