Wide-banding the FTdx-10 & 7300

See?. Jumper JP6 gets shorted out & the radio reset to transmit/receive 25?-75 MHz. As it comes from the factory they will only xmt in ham bands. There is interest in using 40.68 for tnx & receive using FT8.
A wire or tool across JP6 avoids the soldering.

Here is the info I got from Yaesu:

Jack:

There is no W10 dell driver that Yaesu uses. See below for correct drivers.

SCU-17 DRIVER LOCATION ON YAESU WEBSITE

?

You will need to install the Silicone Labs SCU-17 drivers.? You will find he FTDX10 drivers and instructions on the FTDX10 FILES page at?.?? Click on Link:

I've already programmed the 14 channels I plan to use so I'm not going to waste more time on the RT software.

I'm not sure what sort of trouble you are having, but this is the link to the
Adobe version. Some of the simpler free PDF readers don't work on password
protected PDFs that need to connect and verify through a remote site, like a
bank statement would need to do.

Here's the one for Adobe. Before downloading, UNCHECK the add-on they will
otherwise include for McAfee AV products:

This comes with a 14 day trial of the pro version, but I believe it's free if
you don't upgrade.

I have not gone through this. In case you don't get any answers here, try the
Fox Tango group, and both of the FTdx-10 groups.

What does the first text file say? Is there information on Yaesu's site where it
gives directions for installation? I ask because it's easy to find on the Icom
site for the Icom Silicon Labs USB driver.

Since you don't have file extensions turned on in your file explorer, I can't
tell what the other files are since the extensions are hidden.

If it gives directions inside the first text file (the other one looks like a
license agreement), then you're home free (almost). You should be able to open
that file in Windows Notepad (or download Notepad++ as a great replacement for
Notepad).

For the Icom installation, you install the driver first, and only then connect
the radio. That's likely how this one works, and I would not be surprised if
it's not the same driver.

I found this. It downloads a PDF with Yaesu's directions on installing the
driver:

FTdx-10 installation of USB driver

I received the RT Systems programming software, reset the radio & downloaded the driver files from Yaesu. Without help from someone who either knows how to install this I'm hitting PAUSE. My Dell is W10. I called their tech support so I will wait for a return call.. If anyone has gone through this, please let me know.

Attached are the USB driver files I downloaded as a screenshot.

Does anyone know what actually is on the pins at the data part? Ground, voltage, what?

Re: FTdx-10 no audio output

Tim at Yaesu emailed me to turn the squelch full clockwise & reset the radio. I did that & it appears to work. I've only programmed 52.525 FM into M-01 to see if I get any more hangups before spending time programming the other FM & USB channels I want to use. I'm also going to back it up to an SD card so I can recover without going thru the reset.

Re: FTdx-10 no audio output

Tnx! I did all that & finally reset the radio & squelch. I was then able to program 52.525 FM into M-01. Surprisingly, after the reset the memory channels look like they are mostly already programmed with HF frequencies that I have so far been unable to erase using the manual instructions. On a club member's? advice I've ordered the RT software.

As with most Japanese manuals, I don't find this to be easy to use. For example, there are at least 2 different ways to reset the squelch, one requiring a signal gen & the other just the [RF/SQUELCH] control. But one does not mention the other. The glossary is very incomplete also. I have vision problems so spending a lot of time reading it is not a good idea, nor are the videos on YouTube.

Help in programming < 10 channels into memory in my FTdx-10

I've given up on programming this radio. The manual is difficult for me as I'm blind in one eye due to a detached retina & I was told that the cause was eye strain while wearing reading glasses. And the videos on this subject have not been helpful as they don't deal with this simple operation. Channels:

52.525 FM-N
52.48 FM-N
51.82 in/51.32 out 88.0 tone
53.03 in/52.03 out 131.8 tone
50.125 USB
50.225 USB
50.325 USB

I'd greatly appreciate the help from someone experienced with this radio to contact me via my email & not on this list.

Tnx!

Cosmetically, it matches the FT-707, FT-747,
FT-757 and likely others.

Electrically, it can provide up to 20 amps,
so will work with most any HF and/or VHF rig.
It also has a set of binding posts on the back
for easy connection of a rig in addition
to the HF rig.

The speaker has a 3.5 mm plug on it.

This particular unit is in very good shape
both electrically and cosmetically. I can
not find a scratch, dent, or ding on it.
Electrically, it works as it should.
