I helped a chap out with a layout where he was getting all sorts of spurious occupation messages from his DR4088 and the solution was to reduce the cable runs and run as few in parallel as possible. When we required we also use heavier(better?) cable at 16/02 rather than the 7/02 that he had used. This removed all the errors completely. His layout is around 6m end to end and his longest cable runs were 4m and creating bundles of 20+ wires. Many Thanks Iain Morrison

Trying to program DR4018 from NCE PH Pro 4
Hi, I am having trouble programming my DR4018. Every attempt at reading CVs fail. Tried to read CV7, CV8. I have the following hardware. - NCE PH Pro 5 Amp DCC power - Atlas N scale turnouts - I have wired 4018 power and signal together and attached to my programming track. - Also added a 170 ohm resistor between out 1 and C on the first device block I followed the procedure (section 3.3 in manual) for programming track programming except for the LOCO 9999 address. ( A DCC programming track does not have the concept of "address" so I don't understand that step ) Also tried the workaround in section 3.6 of the manual. ( don't know it that applies since the green LED glows on the programming track as long as I am in programming mode ) Anyway since the workaround did not need the LOCO address 9999 I tried it. The red LED did come on when I moved to the programming track but still cant program. I have tried too many goofy things to list here but nothing seems to work. Hope someone has experience with NCE command stations and can suggest a way to program with it. Thanks, Tony

DR5033 Document on Option Settings. This will the first of product documents that will show you how to change options. I will add more options to the manuals as needed. The first option is how to disable the DR5033 from shutting down the entire layout when you have a short only on that Boosters output, everything else remains the same. /g/Digikeijs/files/Digikeijs%20Products/DR5033%20Booster

Linux and DR5000/5088/5052 configuration apps? 10
Since MS Windows 7 support is due to end on Jan 14th 2020, I will no longer use Microsoft Windows, completing the switch to Linux (Debian) and as far as possible Open Source. I already use Rocrail in Linux controlling my DR5000, DR5088's and nearly my DR5052. I have attempted to run the DR5000 configuration application in Linux/WINE but it gives errors and will not run. It will install in WINE but fails when invoked. Looking at the error window, it seems that there are registry problems. Has anyone successfully set up Digikeijs apps to run in a Linux environment, either natively or in WINE? If yes, I would be grateful for advice about installing and configuration. Tony

DR5000 does not recognise certain decoders 3
Dear friends, I just bought a DR5000 and installed latest software V1.5.5 on a Windows 10 laptop. With default, out of the box settings using the usb connection, the DR5000: a. recognises and drives a Brawa locomotive, b. on a Roco V60 with a roco decoder only F1 (telex couplers) works, no other functions work, the loco does not move, c. the latest ESU V60 lok does not work at all, does not move, no functions work. The decoder addresses of all mentioned lokos were read by the DR5000 on the programming track in a simple communication test. I would like also to point out that all the lokos run fine on a previous installation using an old Intellibox I central station connected to the computer running JMRI. what can possibly go wrong? I have lost faith in the product and the company, best regards Vaios

Using the Digikeijs DR5052 turntable controller with Rocrail
I am a newcomer to this group and I may not know all the exact protocol needed here but I hope I can contribute. After much cussing, mind-bending, abandoning for a time, trial and many errors I have finally got my Digikeijs DR5052 turntable controller do do what I want (operate a Fleischmann 9152C) in Rocrail. The problem is that there are just too many different options both in Rocrail and DR5052 - but naturally these MUST be present. Choosing the right options is the problem. I am using the fl6915 controller option in Rocrail. I attach a screenshot of the Rocrail diagram and tracks to show my Rocrail Track settings. Note I cannot use the default DR5052 address (200) as it is in use. I also attach a zipped spreadsheet (created in Libreoffice but using old .xls format) to record my settings. I must warn that the sheet does have address calculation formulae (not macros) which, although benign, might need virus checking etc. If these are of use to anyone they are welcome to adopt/adapt as they wish for other devices. DR4018 only responds on second command 14
Setup is a DR4018 connected to a Pi-Sprog running JMRI 4.16. Point motor is Fleischmann. I have to send each command to throw or close a switch twice for the DR4018 to respond. The red light illuminates on both commands but the motor only switches on the second. From what I can see with a meter across the output, nothing happens after the first command, I only see a voltage change after the second one, so it's not the point motor lagging. Interestingly, the first command is "remembered" by the DR4018 if I send other commands... so for instance to throw switch 56 I have to press "throw" twice. If I "throw" 56 once, then "throw" 55 or any other outputs, then "throw" 56 again it responds. Pretty much a noob with DCC, I think I've managed to factory reset it once and reprogram, but not really played around with setting or reading CVs otherwise.

Z21 App. Selecting correct module type for feedback. 9
I have a DR5000 connected to DR4088LN-CS Box loconet feedback module with add on S88 feedback module giving 32 Loconet sensors. They all report correctly when connected to the DR5000 cofiguration app and by the RocRail with address starting at 33 +32 (ending at 65) When using the Z21 app how do I set up the sensor track items? There is the selection for 5 different devices. Roco 10787 R-BUS Blucher GBM16XL/XN Loconet Uhlenbrock 63320 Loconet Uhulenbrock Lissy Loconet Roco 10808 CAN The question is which is the correct feedback type to use? If I reset the DR4088LN-CS start address to 1 then I can read the first 20 inputs on the Roco and Ulenbrock types on the z21 app but nothing above that. So how do I get the z21 app to display occupied tracks with loconet addresses of 33 up? Many thanks. Colin

DR5052 Professional Roco 42615
Hi, I have probably read misleading information about the combination of turntable controller DR5052, the professional extension set and the Roco turntable 42615. Most say it's not working and some say something like that it is. But I'm not sure if that's actually the truth. So my question here in this forum. Does it work or not? If it's not working, is there a roadmap to have it working in the "near" future? Cheers, Klaus

Is there a way to add a WLANmaus to a DR5000 connected to iTrain? I would like to run an extra train manually. But when i select the DR5000 protocol 'Z21/WLANmaus' I loose iTrain.

DR5000 configuration issues 7
Hi all, I've just got my first Digikeijs product - a shiny new DR5000. However, I'm running into problems configuring it :( I can see (after clicking on the USB port), that Dr.Command is on COM3 XpressNet is on COM5 and Loconet is on COM4. When I start the config app though I get a message "Could not open communication with DR5000@COM3". I've tried uninstall, reinstall, reboot and install the latest version of Windows 10, but nothing seems to have helped. I was thinking it was a "my pc" issue, but could it possibly be a faulty DR5000 do you think? Many thanks, John

DR4018 10
Hi, need help with programming cv47 on a dr4018, I’ve followed the instructions in the manual for using the Z21 app and set up a dummy loco with address 9999, added the F0 function and then pressed the button on the 4018 got a steady red light, entered the address 9999, cv47 and set CV to 2 as I’m using it for signals, press the button to turn red light off on the 4018 but nothing happens, signals aren’t coming on for me to set them. What am I missing? cheers Andy
