Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
You will see that the block detection (i.e. when current is drawn) appears slightly before the Railcom ID is displayed. This is because it is faster being almost the instant a loco enter the block.

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
So let me ask a dumb question, as I’ve only set up sample blocks with DR5088RC and have seen the RC ids show up in my blocks but don’t actually detect any current.
The question:
Why do I care

Re: Programmer Busy reading CVs with Ops mode over Railcom with YD9401
I tried 2, 3 and 4. With 4 I get some (fewer) Programmer busy messages. With 2 and 3, I don't get Programmer busy, but I do see pauses., fewer with 2 than 3. It seems that 3 is the best setting for

Thread exception attempting to run YD9401
Shortly after I open the app, I get this exception:

Re: upgraded DR5000 to YD7001 throttle issue
Thanks for the thread, it appears there was no resolution to the issue. I figured quickly that after acquiring the locomotive I was able to use the 602D wirelessly for control. Seems like a conflict

Re: Can the YD7001 be used for setting CVs on accessories ?
Nope, that is not unclear ;) As of LocoNet specs, RailSync ( which drives the boosters ) must be a carbon-copy of what the commandstation sends to the track. And so it is done by our command stations,

Lower this setting: (POM packet repeat count)

Unfortunately JMRI does *not* handle "Busy" with a retry of the

Re: Programmer Busy reading CVs with Ops mode over Railcom with YD9401
Scott,
There are many factors that can impact the speed of reading when using PoM, amongst them being how busy the track is i.e. how many other locos are present, with special consideration as to

I think this is the same as previously discussed. A search in this forum for DT602D found this thread:

Programmer Busy reading CVs with Ops mode over Railcom with YD9401
I have a DR5000 which has been upgraded to a YD9401. When I use DecoderPro with Programming on Main to read Read All Cvs, I get many "Programmer Busy" responses. The LocoNet log shows that the Write

Re: Can the YD7001 be used for setting CVs on accessories ?
Jay,
Just select the Loco PoM or Accessory PoM radio button on the YD7001 programming interface, enter the address for the device, the CV number and then the value.
You will need to try both

Can the YD7001 be used for setting CVs on accessories ?
Hi
We will shortly have 6 circuit breakers installed on our club layout.? I am giving each of them a unique accessory address before they are installed.
I am trying to determine if the YD7001 can

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
Whist iTrain can calculate the train length placing resisting axles at the
back of trains lets iTrain see the back of the train - especially useful
for reversing or if you lose part of the train

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
Thanks for that Iain.? Would you add the resistors to wagons when using iTrain as the length of the loco/wagon combination is calculated by iTrain?

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
The resistor axles have no impact upon Railcom and simply provide occupancy
for the wagon.
FYI Railcom has nothing to do with occupancy, it is simply reporting the
details from the decoder. The
