Re: Build 68 is here ?

Karst,
?
I tried the update. Downloaded the file. Followed the install process.?
?
Then connected to the YD7001 and it connected fine.?
?
Then proceeded to update the firmware. I got multiple errors of type:
?
Error: Failed to set memory unit 0x00 (Flash) *** failed;?

And dialog box saying Firmware update failed and the green line didn¡¯t go away.?
?
Now the YD7001 is showing only blue Ethernet LED. If I press the Go button I get both Red and Green LED and the blue LED goes out.?
?
The app will no longer communicate with the YD7001.?

Help
?
Regards
?
Brian

Re: DR4088 GND Feedback Wiring Clarification

In other DR4088 types, the two common inputs are independent and thus so are the two input sides (if I understand correctly)?

In the examples shown, Pins 1 to 8 would therefore have no connection to any external current source, 9-16 could be configured the same way?

I understand only the OPTO is intended to be used with sensors switching an external powered circuit. That has me wondering how can Pins 9-16 not cause issues as shown in this diagram. If the Yellow line is GND and the DR5000 has no GND output (as far as I can tell), then are the Red and Yellow feed from some other command station or controller?

BTW my intention is to connect it to relay outputs and turnout motor feedback switches? (i.e. closing the loop to the unit). I'm just curious about how the 'Track Out' detection examples (right side) work.

Re: Build 68 is here ?

Merry Christmas Karst. So appreciate all your hard work so that we can enjoy our play even more. Thank you.
Cheers, Peter

No it cannot !!?

-GND units, including the YaMoRC versions, should NOT !! be used on 2-rail to do any detection connected to the track !!

For current detection use the -CS variants.

?

Still using -GND as you ask for, will result in one, big CURRENT ==> Shortcircuit-Current, which will destroy the Feedbackmodule, Command Station or both !!

Re: DR4088 GND Feedback Wiring Clarification

This is just an example of what you can use.

Input pins 1-8 use the Left GND connection as common as shown.
Inputs pins 9-16 use the Right GND. as shown

Just make sure your devices you are connecting do not output a signal or voltage. These are contacts to GND. (Yellow Line)

DR4088 GND Feedback Wiring Clarification

I have purchased some of these for sensor feedback (it's a two rail DCC layout) but just wanted to confirm my understanding of this diagram.
In this example.
  • Are left side connections just a switched loop from the left common (i.e. no external power source)?
  • The right side common is from 'Track Out Central'.? I assume Track Out Central is the DR5000 track output?
  • The right side inputs include a reed switch. I assume this means any switch can be used in such a configuration?
  • I notice the right side has connections to the track, is this current detection? If so can the unit be used for current detection in 2 rail DCC at all?

Build 68 is here ?

Hello dear YaMoRC friends,
?
Build 68 is here ?
?
Just in time for under the Christmas tree ? .
?
Both installers now have build 68 inside.
?
What has changed:
?
1. YD_Config-build-68
?
- Support for our booster YD7403
?
- The long-awaited update for the YD8116
->> Each definition now has the option of ticking the so-called NoInit flag. (see picture) This leaves the MTB point machines alone at startup.
->> Each definition can now have a "default aspect". This is then the aspect that is "started" during initialisation.
->> The operating voltage may now be from 9VDC instead of 12VDC. This makes it possible to use low-voltage power supplies, e.g. to connect Z-gauge items, or to operate LED lighting with less heat loss (in the ballast resistors)
?
- YD8044 and YD8008
--> Operating voltage now less critical with 12VDC supply.
?
- YD6016LN-xxx
--> The "Input actions" have been expanded with:
---| PowerOn ( track voltage on )
---| PowerOff ( track voltage off or emergency off )
---| Emergency ( track power on and locomotives on emergency stop )
?
- YD6016ES-xxx
--> No changes
?
- YD9100
--> No changes
?
?
2. YD_7001-build-68: (YD7001 V8.2.5)
?
- Support for the YD7001-E command station
--> Track and input voltage measurement.
- Full implementation of the ES-Link protocol on the ext88N socket
--> Connected YD6016ES can now be configured directly with the YD7001
- New slot management for WiThrottle applications, among others.
--> Slots can now be "Dispatched", set to "Idle" or "Purged" with the slot management. Both of the latter release slots that are no longer needed or were inadvertently reserved. This can eliminate the notorious "No Slot" in LocoNet applications.
?
?
?
And finally YD9401 (V1.1.7)
- Number of WiFi clients increased from 4 to 10
- WiThrottle implementation of Release/Dispatch/Purge revised.
- WiThrottle missing functionality implemented like:
--> Power On/Off?
--> Reports from server to client in case of e.g. a short circuit.
?
?
?
?
The instructions will be updated accordingly in the coming days.
?
?
Quite a lot all together.
?
?
A few general words about the update procedure:
?
1. always disconnect modules from input voltage, DCC signal, LocoNet, ExpressNet etc.
2. if possible, connect directly and alone to a YD9100. (or of course via your own USB)
3. use a USB isolator where possible if several USB devices are connected from the layout to the PC
4. before starting the update, always create a backup copy via "Export".
5. switch off and restart the modules after the update has finished (green bar has disappeared)?
6. check old settings and re-import the export if necessary.
?
?
I wish you every success and lots of fun with these new features. If something should not work, please let me know here or in the customer group on Facebook!?
?
?
With best wishes for Christmas,
Karst

Re: DR-5013 set-up and Rocrail

Follow-up:
I was able to re-establish connection with the DR5013 (see topic on how to force a firmware re-installation) and modify its settings according to Iain recommendations. Now i don't have troubles anymore , running trains with Rocrail in auto mode Cheers

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

Edited

Following Karst suggestion I was able to re-establish connection with the DR 5013
Then I modified the settings as you recommended :
1) decreased the short circuit delay ( from 200 ms? to 50 ms in both DR5013 and DR5000),?
2) changed? DR5013 "Report short-circuit" from BOTH to NONE
Now thanks to the help of you all I can run trains with Rocrail in AUTO mode again

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

How - what was the issue?

Many Thanks

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

No,

?

Only added bootloader LEDs in the YaMoRC products ;)

?

When doing the Procedure as described, the LEDs stay all off. When holding the button and then plugging in the USB, you should hear the USB-insertet-riddle and a Atmel or Lib-USB device should appear in Device Manager.

?

Karst

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

Done,? but still no connection; still stuck in DEMO mode.! ? When I Hold the POL button should there be a change in the green /blue LED frequence ? Because nothing happens in my DR5013

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

Great Thanks Will do !

Re: DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

Press and Hold the Pol. Button on 5013.

then Plug in USB and start the software. Gi directly to USB and click Update.

DR5013: How to force a reinstall of the firmware ?

I'm having trouble getting my DR5013 out of DEMO mode. I tried with 3 different USB cables Even with the DR5013 connected to nothing else than the PC the? COM port shows? correctly on the device manager as? "DR5013 reversloop controller on DR Command" but cannot get out of DEMO mode.
I was considering starting with a "clean slate"? by forcing a re-installation of the firmware V1.1.0? Is there a way to do this?

If it still showing Demo Mode then it means you have not connected to the DR5013 to the computer. I recommend that you try another cable.
