Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

I note that the default port for Loconet LBServer is described in JMRI as
being 1234.

If TC does not have the ability to change the TCP port and is hard-coded to
use the default then perhaps changing the TCP port on the DR5000/YD7001 to
1234 might allow Loconet connection between TC and the DR5000/YD7001?

TC does have a Loconet LAN connection. I use it for another product.

Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

Hi Reg

Between TC, iTrain and Jmri, all 3 have a steepish learning curve.
Yesterday was the first time I played with TC since V7, it was fun, but its not for me.
I have no experience with iTrain so cant help you there, tho from what i've read in forums, people seen to like iTrain over TC? .
Jrmi is what I use, its the perfect price, more trains ;) but its not for everyone.

In the end it comes down to "The Devil you know" verses cost verses that learning curve.

Hi Iain,
I agree there seems to be an issue with TC and Loconet as managed by DR/YD products. As Brian says there is facility on the TC interface for a Loconet LAN connection, as there is for the Roco Z21. But enter the exact same information and one works one doesn¡¯t . I suspect Brian is using Digitrax, not YaMoRC.?
Thanks for your input.
My next decision is do I upgrade my TC 9 Silver to 10 Gold or dump it and use the money to buy iTrain?
Onward and upward

Re: Connecting WLANMaus throttle to YD7001

So after lots of attempts, I finally got the transfer of locos between WLANMaus to work.

For future reference:

Firstly, the handsets must be connected to the command system, and the system to be turned on, for the send to start and the receive to happen.

On the Receiver, once you press OK, the Receive changes to RECV.

On the Sender, once you press OK, the display scrolls through the List of Locos. Once this happens the Receive handset also scrolls through the list of locos.?

THIS DOESN'T WORK WITH THE YD7001. Once I connected both handsets to a z21 Start it worked.?

On the YD7001 the Send works but the Receiver just stays on RECV.?

Hope that helps someone else in the future.

Regards Brian

Re: Connecting WLANMaus throttle to YD7001

So having been following this thread I decided to update the firmware in my 3 WLANMAUS this morning. So all failed on multiple attempts. I ended up trying 3 different WIFI routers for the Maus and the PC and using the Maintenance app and finally got all 3 upgraded. However in the process, 2 throttles lost all their locos, about 30 locos.

I have tried do do the send - receive to transfer the locos from the Throttle that has all the locos to the other two but it doesn¡¯t appear to work. Receive starts scrolling on the receivers, but pressing OK when on SEND on the transmitter does nothing. Am I missing something?

I have an operating session on Friday so if I don¡¯t get it to work, it will take me a while to enter 60 locos.

Brian

Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

Hi Don
Thank you, the YD 7001 is now working a treat with the PC interface by changing the Ethernet Properties to 192.168.0.93. Thanks again. Now to get Traincontroller communicating via LAN. Iain says the Port needs to be changed, but I haven't found where to do that yet. You were a great help

Reg

Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

Hi Reg

going by the Pic's, did you set both the computer and the 7001 to the same IP address?

Change 1 of them to say 192.168.0.93

September 4, 2023 Open Meeting 1:00PM-5;00PM CDT

Yesterday we had some interesting conversations.

Had the Engineer that designed the TCS Throttles.? We learned a lot.

Worked on some product issues.

One topic came up to make a spreadsheet of comparing the Digikeijs products numbers to the YaMoRC product number.
Also add the latest revision numbers to the spreadsheet.
If you want to volunteer for this task let me know.

is there away to use loconet over IP on traincontroller I did not think there is

If you have TC setup for a DR5000 then you could change the port in the
YD7001 to 5550 to regain connectivity - BUT be aware that this could have
consequences when upgrades are applied if they change the port back to 5560.
Best to change it within TC - though not being a TC user I don't know where
that change would be made, I would think somewhere in the interface
definition.

Re: Connecting WLANMaus throttle to YD7001

Bernhard

Yes, you are correct.? I missed that.? You can directly start the WLANMaus Update Tool application, and there is no need to use z21 Maintenance Tool to update the WLANMaus. Again I learn something new :-)

When I was trying to figure out the update process for the WLANMaus I found and watched a You Tube video done by a German modeler and he always started at the z21 Maintenance Tool?probably because he has other Z21 components to maintain.

Re: Connecting WLANMaus throttle to YD7001

Hi Jay,
after having succesfully updated my WLANmaus using your information (thanks for this!) I think installing the z21 Maintenance Tool is not necessary. The option for WLANmaus update in the maintenance tool is just starting the WlanMausUpdate.exe program and thus it should be possible to start WlanMausUpdate.exe without the detour via z21 Maintenance Tool. That is the way given in the german instructions who are included in the WLANmaus update tool.

Kind regards
Bernhard
