Also depends on the power supply you are using - if you are having issues might be worth putting a more powerful separate power supply into DR4018 rather than using DCC Bus

Hi Chris,

Have you adjusted the position of the motors? I have just fitted 14 pl11s to a couple of dr4018s and found that I had to move a few of them into or away from the points lever because the point wasn’t throwing properly, certainly got the oomph as you put it to throw them though, are the points switching freely by hand, may need to loosen track pins if that’s how you’ve stuck them down.

Hope this helps
Andy

Does anyone find the DR4018 hasn't the oomph to switch Peco PL-11 side-mounted turnout motors?

If so, can anything be done to improve this, such as lengthening the duration of the switch pulse?

Re: New file uploaded to [email protected]

Reading this topic and the implication that you need to read both a new and old data sheets for the DR4018 is this also true for other products?
If so, where does one find older datasheets on the website?

No, this is an earlier version (V1.2) dated? 05-02-2012.? It has some information not in the most current version Dated 12-23-2018)

There is some of the programming steps not found in the current version.

Also the note about when you program the DR4018 you might have to reprogram the ID for the DR40218 again.

I have seen this problem and wondered if it was something I was doing, now know it might have to be done again.

I think that this is the new DR4018 manual that was released on the Digikeijs website a few weeks ago?

Thanks James,?

it was that, strange as I’d only ran a 101 with that as it’s address the day before and the last short loco address was blank when I opened it tonight, but 108 now running.

Cheers
Andy

Colin,

The DR5000 will terminate the LocoNet.? Both devices will need to be plugged into the LocoNet B for the RailSync.??

Sorry all, I should have typed RailSync not railcom!

Re: DR5000 which protocol?

Hi Colin,

I don't know about your other questions, but BDL168 does not support Railcom (BDL168 supports transponding which is different). If you want Railcom you will need Digikeijs DR5088RC

1)???? As the CML DAC20 controls the turnout using track command S1 (Address 45), S2 (Address 46) Thrown/Closed etc. Which connection protocol do I use to send the commands via the Track connection to the CML DAC20 accessory decoder? I am assuming it would be COM(x) Xpressnet protocol. Note: I do not want to use LocoNet at this time.

Re: DR5000 & 6pin decoders

I have other locos with lower and higher addresses that work fine, I was wondering if 108 is blocked or if there’s a problem specific to either early bachmann chips or ESU lokpilots with that addres.

Re: DR5000 & 6pin decoders

just a suggestion, but try making the address below 99 and see if that helps.

DR5000 & 6pin decoders

Hi,

Question regarding DR5000 and 6pin decoder chips, I have around 30 locos both Dapol & Farish running chips from Bachmann, Gaugemaster, ESU, Lais, Zimo etc and today I was giving all my locos a run out for the first time on my layout since it’s rebuild and since I got my 5000, I used a Dynamis Ultima before, all but 1 worked fine ?I have a farish class 108 DMU with a Bachman chip in the power car and a lais in the dummy, it would not run, it wasn’t being seen by the z21 app or my laptop via the 5000. ?We attached an Ecos system to my layout and it worked fine, we then changed the chips for ones from another unit and it worked but the chip failed when put into another loco we tried a later version of the Bachmann chip and an Esu lokpilot v4 and programmed them with the Ecos but still nothing with the DR5000, the address is 108 is there anything stopping me from using that address?

Re: Boosters

I go to the loconet B tab
put in product number-5033
module address 7
CV?
number 3 value 10
bolt nothing but time out! I’m trying to make sure all my boosters (3) are programmed the same!?
I recently added an addition and decided to run it off its own booster! I keep getting shorts! It was suggested to me that two boosters not set the same way (configured the same can cause a short! That’s why the changes!?

Re: Boosters

Ok?
I have already programmed an address no problem! I’m trying to Configure CV3! I get it all finished with a value of 10 and hit the lightning bolt to program and it starts an the I get a red time out!
