is there a bug in the software
Nope, works as designed. But....
?
The YD7001 can fully configure and address 1-128 inputs (8x 16-bit modules) Modules above are run in "legacy mode".
?
That means that they get numbered as if it were in the DR5000 --> "First contact in feedback space" + 128? for the 9th module upwards.
?
So if you want to use more than the recomended 8 modules you are more or less obliged to follow the legacy numbering scheme.
?
That is:?
?
"First contact in feedback space" set to 0 and answer Yes to the automatic renumber question.

i dont?understand what you mean about out of spec when you said it was 5 mtr cable length?from the yd7001
Our spec is a guaranteed maximum of 3 meters, as is the original M?rklin spec for the s88 Bus. Provided that all YD6016ES modules are contiguous connected from the command station on. "non ES-Link modules (i.e. DR4088) should be connected AFTER the last ES-Link Module. This is required, since DR4088 do not carry the ES-Link signals "upstream" to the later modules on the string.
?
I mentioned 5 meters, because some people her and in other fora reported 5 or more meters also working. But it's in the range of "getting luky when it works".?
