#2020partiesUPDATE May and September parties- URGENT SPECIAL UPDATE- May event to be CANCELLED ....PLEASE READ THIS
#2020partiesUPDATE
Hello all you hopeful partygoers¡? I have heard our PA Governor Wolf, and this is where we stand¡. ? He is planning to lessen restrictions on a localized basis, possibly county by county, probably BEGINNNG in May.? That means that counties with lower infection rates and deaths will be first to see less risk and possibly more freedom. ? The sad fact is that Lancaster County does not fit that profile.? Just the opposite, it has one of the highest in the state, or at least it is in the middle of the pack.? My guess is that it will probably remain under a stay-at-home order through at least the beginning of June.? Even if it doesn¡¯t, I don¡¯t feel comfortable to put anyone at additional risk, and I am hearing that THE RISK will not be changed substantially PERHAPS until mid-summer. ? I am still planning and hoping for a safe September party, but I am CANCELLING THE MAY PARTY. ? ? SUSQUEHANNOCK IS A STATE PARK THAT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, AS LONG AS THEY ABIDE SOCIAL DISTANCING.? WE WILL BE USING THE SAME REST ROOMS AND WATER FOUNTAINS THAT ANYONE FROM ANYWHERE WILL BE USING DURING THE DAYTIME. ?? ? Even though it sits in the middle of Amish territory, anyone wishing to attend will need to get gas and meals, most of which is offsite.? Those traveling a distance, whether from Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and South Carolina, or even York County, will be put at more risk during their travels, as well as the over-60 crowd, with or without health issues (to which I also belong to).? ? I DO have folks planning to attend this party from at least every one of the above-mentioned states, and I consider all of you friends, as well as supporters of my efforts over the years.? The last thing I would want is to put anyone at any additional risk than we have to deal with currently. ? I am now waiting for Reserve America to post information about their cancellation policy for May on their website, sometime around or before April 29. ?At that point I can transfer the reservations to September, possibly without additional fees. ?The state park fees and expenses are completely transferrable, separately from the reservation vendor. ? I can only hope the weather cooperates, and that all of you will enjoy our hobby from safe locations, and stay safe until we see each other again.? That also includes the high winds, storms, floods, tornadoes and anything else that gets thrown at us this year. ?Glad to hear the Baileys got missed.? ? Take care, I hope to have better news in August.? Thank you everybody for supporting my efforts for our party.? Lets keep our fingers crossed. Phil ? ? ? ? ?

That would be fine as a loaded weight on the playground observing field.? You might check loaded weight by asking at a recycling center or scrap yard.? They generally do not charge for that. If you wish to run a generator, the north RV field is where (quiet) generators permitted, and it also has a good observing view.? There are campgrounds north of this lot, so loud generators are not allowed. ?

The pavilion has a couple outlets that I put a couple charging strips in for recharging batteries. It is between the two observing fields.? Not close enough for cords. The (north) RV lot is where (quiet) generators are allowed, because of fumes and noise.? Also where the real bathrooms are located.? Both fields offer good skies.?
I will be updating the website and FAQ page soon, for obvious reasons...

? I'm out for May (as, I suspect is most everyone else) If September
happens, and I'm not wrapped around other axles, I'd love to come.
