Re: Standard Xair handbrake ?
I don't know of one as such but I built a X-Air standard and modified my brake drum system so that I could use a single lever, I'm a wheelchair pilot and I fly in the right seat and wanting to leave

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Standard Xair handbrake ?
There was a handbrake kit available at one time made in uk, it was a UK requirement by the BMAA for versions that had a pull start rather than electric start.
That is why it is detailed in the UK

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Standard Xair handbrake ?
Hello Huw,
I noted in the UK Modification Book (Revised 08/03) that Optional Modification number 18 is a Parking Brake. In the description of the modification is this statement:? "If you are fitting

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Standard Xair handbrake ?
I fitted a rachet type handbrake between seats and was noted by the bmaa about that time. I may still have the drawings. It does take some engineering if you have the facilities

Unless he is referring to the incapacitated pilot mods, which put all the controls on or close to the sticks, Michael?

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Standard Xair handbrake ?
I fly a 2003 year of manufacture that came with a brake handle between the seats that when pulled applies brakes to both wheels.

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Re: BRS in X'air F
I recall working on fitting the battery in the xair F tail and getting it load tested and approved in UK. It was the only way we could achieve the C of G when fitting a heavier Verner or Rotax 912.

Yes, I can see advantages and disadvantages in both systems. The idea of detonating a rocket a few cm from a plastic fuel tank is something that doesn't appeal. I believe the theory is that the

Thats only the rocket, not the complete chute. It's pointing STRAIGHT at
the fuel tanks ?? Something i dont understand. The idea with the
system we use is the distance from the fuel tanks is more

Hello John, is after an engine mount for a standard X-Air not the H
model but it is good to know that you have one for the H model anyway.
Do you have the modified engine cowls to suit ?
