Thats only the rocket, not the complete chute. It's pointing STRAIGHT at the fuel tanks ????? Something i dont understand. The idea with the system we use is the distance from the fuel tanks is more than 1 meter and no chance of an accident.? There are several ways to mount the chute but the way we use puts it right on the cofg of the aircraft. In the back like shown on your photo would need a lot of weight up front.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. Interestingly the system used in Australia is quite different to that in Europe. After a bit of research I found an image on the German X?€?air agent? which shows their system? housed internally:-

I think that system is available from the factory in France so I am currently making enquiries in that direction.
