Re: removing the instrument panel
Because most constructors would have fitted the instrument panel before fitting the windscreen, it can be difficult to remove. If it is held in place by captive nuts, then that makes things a lot easier. If not, very difficult to get at the nuts behind the panel. ? The UK kits had captive nuts. There is a modification, approved in UK, that allows the front bit of the pod to be cut off and made as a removable nose cone. I did that and I still have the details , it was published in the UK Microlight Flying magazine years ago and I also have the original wiring diagram. The removable nose cone is brilliant, it comes off in two minutes and it allows easy access to the nosewheel assembly and pedals? and would help re your panel removal. It is also brilliant if ever you need to remove the windscreen. Huw ( from UK) |
X-Air Standard Instrument Panel
Anyone had any experience removing the instrument panel on an X-Air Standard?? How difficult is it to pull it out so I can easily access the wiring behind it?? Any tips?? I am seriously considering running all new power wiring in my aircraft.? It has had several owners each who made some modifications.? No documentation of wiring changes and no original wiring diagram for the aircraft.? A rat's nest of wires behind the panel that are difficult to trace without pulling out the panel.? May be time to start over with a clean slate.? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks. |

Lockwood aviation in Sebring FLA, better tips but may need a little sanding to fit tubing.

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft X-Air Standard and F
I agree. I would not trade my S for a 172 even money. The more pilots that fly with me the more they get it. I have hopes for more enthusiasm for the X-Air. As I commented previously, 2 guys at my field are looking for a Standard. One is a high time GA pilot selling a Cherokee 160.

There may be a few Standards in NC.? I remember former dealer Joe Carswell had something like that in? Morganton? NC, but I could be wrong. Also there was one near? Maiden, NC. Maybe Laney's Airport.

?
I am checking to see if anyone is selling a Standard in the US, preferably in the Southeast. A couple of guys at our airport are lusting after mine and asking if I can maybe find any for sale. Thanks.

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Front fork replacement
开云体育Personally, I would be a little bit worried because the front pod and the windscreen structure becomes "almost" a structural part of the aircraft providing support for a lot of other areas. Simply cutting an access panel into the pod would weaken its integrity. I would have concerns about doing this.melanie jones byronmelaniej@...
