Hi Jon,

In Australia my X-Air MTOW is 490kg my aircraft empty weight is 260kg

I actually purchased a 912 I wanted to install in it rather than the 582... not sure yet as it seems hard to get a 912 engine mount grrr

with a chute added I know the weight here can be more,?

the ones I seen have a mount to clamp the external bullet looking chute to the main boom then has the straps bolted to the frame... I'm sure a google search will find some extra info but if not look at the assembly manual as it shows the BRS mounting :)?

I would be very keen to see some close up pictures of your 912 mounting

a mate of mine just purchased a X-Air with a jabiru 2200 and a BRS fitted.. I will get a pic or two and show you his one, I dont think you will need to bother covering the fuel tanks as the rock et is above and outside the aircraft frame..

cheers Pete?

Hi John

Good luck, in my opinion, for what it's worth, it seems that if you can find an a/c of your type in Europe (pref Germany) that has been tested / certified by their national authority you maybe in with a chance. ?Otherwise keep flying over flat green fields. ?It is worth noting that more people (as quoted by the BRS suppliers)walk away from BRS forced landings than pilot controlled forced landings. ?
Pity' the powers that be ' do not push for all a/c upto 1000kg to be fitted with a BRS

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft BRS in X'air F

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Looking back a few years when I owned one of the three UK Falcon 912¡¯s, the weight and balance sheet indicates a measured empty weight of 264.5kg and a max zero fuel weight of 266.5. If you are not permitted the ?10% increase it doesn¡¯t leave much for the BRS!? Given the choice with an engine failure I would still choose to glide into a field rather than pop the BRS.. i would appreciate hearing what others experiences have been in changing fabric for the X Air H. Specifically, what distributor did you use, and how did that turn out in terms of cost, delivery, fit, etc. Does Rand Kar out of France still supply sails, and if so is the delivery time and fit reasonable? The closest sail supplier to me (I am in Ontario Canada) is Ultralight Sales Canada based in Quebec. With them I have heard some owners quite pleased and others not so much?€?.

I have the X Air H fabric removal and information manuals - but I was also wondering if owners could identify any particular tips/tricks to successful removal and installation that may not be in the manuals?€?.particularly with the wings?€?.

Your help/insight much appreciated in advance!
