Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Wing Strut End Fitting free play
Thanks? Seamus,
? That is probably the route I am going to go. ?Tomorrow I plan on going to the field and try an AN 5 bolt on my strut, if that doesn't help I am going to replace it with an AN6.

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Wing Strut End Fitting free play
?
They do develop a bit of play you can swap out the 6mm
bolts with some AN4 (1/4") which will help as they are slightly oversize
(6.35mm)
Unfortunately 5/16" and 8mm is basically?the same so
not benefit there changing out bolts unless the 8mm ones are worn.
Also it is better not to have the stainless plates
perfectly parallel with the slots in the ends of the alum fittings a bit of out
of line keeps the whole thing slop and rattle free.
They will actually wear quicker if the fit is loose from
the start.
Same with jury struts.
?
I always replace out the pins on the jury struts with
bolts to prevent the rattles.

Sure thing. Not a problem.
What is it exactly you would like for me to check out.?
I had spoken to Raj Hamsa about four years back, when I was considering purchase of an X-Air. But since then, I have heard (and it's only hearsay) that they no longer make make the airplanes for domestic consumption.?
A few that are being made are only for export.?
I didn't confirm this back with the factory. Since , the regulatory environment in India no longer makes it possible for us interested folks to be able to purchase (or build) a microlight/ultralight class of aircraft, I didn't pursue this hearsay information any further.
Happy landings.

Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft X-Air-F 503
Hi, mine is powered with Jabiru 2200, flies great with no issues at all and just over 280hrs logged in all Queensland, Australia times of the year which includes hot temps in the western areas. I believe that a few have also been fitted with the rotax 912, Seamus in Ireland may be able to help with details of these combinations.

If I was to look for a higher HP rated engine is there a max weight that can be installed in place of the 582 ,not sure how much the Jabiru comes it at complete? or even the Bmw conversion?. I know the Weight and Balance has to be correct but am just wondering what has been tried .Thank for the input.

live in India, and till a couple of years ago, used
to fly on two X-Air with Jabiru 2200. I didn't have
any issues with the engine, but others had had
atleast one each of engine out landings on both of
them.
In
one instance, the aircraft was overhead, so could
recover on the airfield comfortably. In the other
instance, it happened during the climbout after take
off, and the aircraft had to be put down in a field
adjacent to the airport. No damages to the airplane
or pilots in either of the case.

Hi
You could really help a lot of owners out there, do you
know or can you find out the current status of the Raj
Hamsa company in Bangalore and if the aircraft are still
being made?

?
Yes these were the standard doors I used to make for the
UK & Ireland kits, they were not a factory option, never knew why they
didn't make proper doors.
