Re: sending MSG01 via CW
Finally I could arrange a new simple test. It seems it works!? X5105 send out a memorized cw message. Fine! Now I need to study how to transform this in a "beacon". Maybe a future version of fw may

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105
Had a similar experience with my homebrew magloop. Finally put one of those bifilar unun chokes between the input to the magloop and the radio (at the magloop end of the 10m/25ft feedline. Made a huge

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105 I could Scream
Hi, i had a similar issue - all antennas suddently seem to be useless. I ended up in replacing the BNC jack of the X5105 and soldered a new one which solved my problem. Maybe you have the same issue?

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105 I could Scream

Different coax. One as a RG58 patch cable. Really hesitant to do a factory reset on this unit, as I¡¯m sure the only effect this would have is to reduce the unit to a brick. Can¡¯t trust the advice

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105 I could Scream
Just wondering, are you using the same coax for all?? Maybe your coax has an issue.? I've been there before chasing my tail only to find a short in a connector.? As for the cw decoder, it's never

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105
It sounds to me like it could be a "common mode current" problem, RF on the outside of the co-ax - from an unbalanced load, or maybe some other reason. This 'common mode' current can mess up your SWR

Audio amplification
I am wondering if the x5105 uses the common lm386 chip? I have not opened mine yet to see - trying to avoid doing that to a new radio unless warranted. The reason I ask is that if it does not have a

Re: Feeling jaded by the x5105 I could Scream
Nothing to the 8 pin din. Only the Mike and RG58 to the Radios BNC to connect the Antenna. Static Noise was unbearable. As stated after an hour managed to get a strong CW signal of perfect clear

If its of any interest to you, I've been experiencing the same issues. My expensive Buddistick was tuned perfectly using a high end analyser and the pins were matched with the bands. Went to two

To inject just a little humor into your venting, seems there was a movie a couple of years ago about over the hedge. If you do toss the Radio be sure you get your cookie. ? Seriously I hear your

Feeling jaded by the x5105
Need to vent. When I first got the x5105, I tried it with an alex loop, and couldn't get an acceptable set (as in lower than 9.9 :1). I took the loop apart then gave up on it. Since then, I got an cha
