Threading

Edited

Hey all. I¡¯m having issues with threading my 9. I¡¯ve followed the manual but it¡¯s just not working for me. I¡¯ve attached a link to photos that will hopefully help.
?
I realize I haven¡¯t finished threading the machine in the first pics, but the first two are just to show how I¡¯m threading the thread guide since it¡¯s the problem area.?

The third photo is showing what happens to the thread in the thread guide when I try to thread the rest of the machine. It gets pulled and then slips off to the side.
?
The final photo is a pic of all of it threaded. You can see the problem I¡¯m running into with the thread guide there as well.

This is making the thread constantly break! I¡¯ve watched many videos in the event that I¡¯m threading it wrong but it appears everyone threads it the same as I do¡
?
Thank you for any help. I hope the link works!
?
edit: I don¡¯t thread the machine with the presser foot down. I had lowered it for the photos just by reflex. I thread with the presser foot up every time.

I believe that the tension wire loop (the tension spring) needs to bend upward.? I found this photo on QuiltingBoard that shows what I mean.? Be careful in bending it because old wires are sometimes brittle and break easily.?

P.S.? When I have to do things like this on my machines, I used fine nosed jewelry-making pliers.?
