Total Novice with my D9 treadle

Hi, I just purchased a D9 at a yard sale. I have sewed for a long time, but never on a treadle. My machine needs a cleaning and oiling which I hope my sewing machine technician will be able to do. I'm also having the cabinet get some tlc.

Please what needle system does it use? HA1, 15x705, Singer?

Does it use a special bobbin?

I did find a few pdfs of the manual so I will print and read those cover to cover.

Thank you for letting me join and become more knowledgeable about my new machine.

Cathy

The D-9 uses 127x1 needles. The 127x1 needles are no longer made, but you can substitute MY1014. []

?

This is an industrial round shank needle is smaller in diameter and will slide up in the needle bar. Except for the shank being round instead of flat, all the?other dimensions are the same as the 127x1 needle. Being a round shank?needle, you will need to orient the needle yourself, but that can be done?fairly easily.

?

The type of bobbin your machine uses will depend on when it was manufactured. Check the file section of this group for information about the bobbins, for manuals, and for other information. The D-9 is a wonderful machine to sew with, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
