a couple of ST1300s, I inspected one - lovely bike, and they like 'em.?
Haven't heard about the weave here, but they don't have a freeway on the
Island and they don't wear?a topbox either.? I presume you won't
regularly travel at 125-145 mph, but maybe I'm wrong?..?? How many
bikes will that leave in the stable??

I took it up to speeds in excess of the normal
motorway speeds and no weave at all. however mine will have the top box
fitted so I will find out if that has an adverse effect

As some of you will know recently I have
been considering a more touring style of appliance. Today I rode tested
a ST1300?Pan European. I was offered a really good trade in for my
CB1300S against a brand new Pan complete with a package off accessories
worth ?850 for less than the list price of a standard bike.
Hopefully I will be concluding the deal

Jon Thanks for the excellent service, you have just sorted out my birthday present, (69th, thats why my tyres last a long time). Incidentally, I used the other spelling for those over the pond. I thought it was quite clever at the time. Thanks again Nic A W650riders@..., "Jonhaddock@..." <jonhaddock@...> wrote:

Yes, the front Venom, or indeed a front Bridgestone BT45 would be fine.
There's nothing really wrong with the rear...The BT45 is better, but if you
get good mileage, it follows you don't 'ear'ole' it much so the benefits of
the rear BT's stick sidewalls would be lost.
If the front has developed a 'step' where the centre treads have become
raised, you might not want a BT45 on the front as the raised ridge is
symptomatic of the dual compound front tyre wearing wrongly due to your
riding style ( mine too!). The BT45 might also wear in that way...Although
no-one has reported it doing so yet.

I need a new front tyre and have been reading Jon's epistle on the subject (message no. 126572, 20th April 2007 'Older but not wiser')as
well as many others. I have an almost new stock Accolade on the rear,
(the way I drive it will last for years), would a stock size Venom go
with this? Currently the front is a stock Accolade. Regards Nic A
