Re: Captain Jake's website

I was able to access the instructions using that archived link. It didn't work from my iPad but once I got home to my computer, it works fine.
Thank you Matt and everyone else for your help.

Re: Captain Jake's website

Yes he's still with us. He's a co-owner of this group.?
Try a search on our online site messages for Captain Jake.

I'd say allowing the site to go dark and letting it be availableon Internet Archive is a sign that he wouldn't mind having the information posted where others could more easily find it, especially fellow W650 riders.
?
It's not like he monetizes it so it wouldn't result in potential economic harm (an important factor in copyright infringement cases).

I have Captain Jake¡¯s shimming page and his airbox mod page saved as PDF files¡ just for me to read and maybe use for myself someday. ?I could post them in the files section¡ but not without his permission¡

Perhaps someone with a better understanding than of how web pages work could add that content to the Files section of this group??

It did, hence the ?¡°Wayback Machine¡± internet archive pages.

The advrider thread is amazing¡ but a lot to sort through¡

Captain Jake's website

I have been recently trying to access Captain Jake's website to get his shimming mod procedure.
?
Unfortunately, the website seems to be down.
?
Does anyone know if Captain Jake has a different site for access to his needle shimming mod procedure?

Re: LH Exhaust pipe crack

I'd say the foot "loop" is definitely bent: here's a pic of mine... which I don't believe is bent!? I tried to photograph it from the same angle, etc...
?

Re: LH Exhaust pipe crack

It's possible that your side stand may be slightly bent from someone sitting on the bike on the side stanford?mounting the bike when it's on the stand.? That's all I can think of...
Sorry, wish?I could offer more.
