Re: Rear tyres
Greetings from Oakland, CA.
Presuming you took a tire off, it must be possible. Is the wheel true in all directions? I guess you have tried obscene amounts of lube on both tire and rim. Is there rust or anything on the rim? Not that it should matter here but are you installing a new tube as well? It¡¯s a good idea. That¡¯s all I have. Good luck. BC |
Rear tyres
Hi new on here !!, Just a point, I have a 02 W650, done 38 thousand miles ish, I havnt used it for some time, but would like to get on the road again,?
The roblem being, I cant get a new rear tyre to fit on the rim propery, Tried all the usual, lots of tyre fitting lube, and inflating to high pressure,? The bead will not blow out properly,? bought another tyre, but thats the same. Think this is the third tyre I have fitted, the others had the same prob but always wnet on in the end,? anyone else had this prob ? |
Re: anyone bought/ installed khammoto scrambler pipes?
I don¡¯t know this shop, but I have traveled there and bought exhaust pipe for my SR 500.
Take care of the noise you will get as the one for my SR really looks like (speaking of quality)this one and is really noisy and not for road use here in France¡. Philippe Parent 66350 Toulouges (France) |
Re: anyone bought/ installed khammoto scrambler pipes?
I do believe they are the same...at least the fairings being sold in website are really from Khan... I am 87,54% certain of this... I have one. :)? A sexta, 18/10/2024, 18:11, judd via <juddripley=[email protected]> escreveu:

Re: anyone bought/ installed khammoto scrambler pipes?
Hi Pat!?
well bless you sir, you sent me pics of this beauty last year i think!?
it in no way helps me with the pipes from khammoto, but i appreciate the effort!
fyi, those beauties from japan are double the price, with a long wait time, but while I have you here, how are they practically speaking?
are they annoying to ride with? exhaust heat on the leg etc. etc. they do look very straight compared to some of the very frame hugging ones i have seen.
and did you do any rejetting??
i may have asked you these questions last time, i dont remember, but they certainly are a handsome set of pipes!
thanks again, kind regards,?
Judd

anyone bought/ installed khammoto scrambler pipes?
So i have been looking for ever to get some scrambler pipes for the Dub, and have been looking at the scrambler pipes from Khammoto in Thailand.
They look the business, so im just wondering if anyone (surely someone!) has tried these out and can give feedback on fit and finish, and sound.?

Help identifying mystery bolts after carb rebuild
Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could help me two mystery bolts that I have leftover from a recent carb rebuild. I was very diligent last time I did this and had no problem but for some reason this time I might have been in a rush so probably didn¡¯t label the little bag that I store my parts during taking them off during the rebuilt. Here is what I was left over with. Pretty sure the ones on the left are the bolts for the electrical panel after replacing the battery. Now the ones on the right, I am struggling to find their home. They are 10mm just like the ones on the left so I don¡¯t think they are the ones to attach the air cleaner housing show as A in the pic below as they are 8mm if I am not mistaken. The bag that I put them in was labeled Air Cleaner Housing Bolts (A), but that didn¡¯t help me since I originally thought they were the right bolts for the bolts show as A in the service manual below. So unless I switched the bags and added the bolts for ¡°A¡± in the pic from the service manual into a bag labeled ¡° Air Holder Bolts¡± when they should have been in the bag that these darker ones ended up in called ¡°Air Cleaner Housing Bolts (A)¡±. I am open to any suggestions as needles to say I am ready to ride again and this is driving me nuts (and bolts!) Thanks in advance for helping my old brain figure this out! Cheers Paul |
Re: Carb rebuild again?
From what I understand (from the old Yahoo group) the W's original equipment was designed to tolerate ethanol since it's been a thing in Asia and Europe longer than in North?America. Age is probably the bigger issue?? Not sure if Wired George is still around - he was the world's authority?on Kawasaki carburetors back in the day. His website looks to be active still. He's also a genuinely nice and generous guy who's happy to answer questions so I'd definitely consider reaching out to him. =S On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 6:49?AM Philippe P via <philippep2005=[email protected]> wrote: Use only Kawasaki parts, mine are originals, never cleaned, bike has 116 000 kms and they work perfectly, just returned from the French meeting in Florac and around 900 kms and fuel consumption around 4,6 litre x 100 kms ¡. |

Hi Paul. Looking at that Pure-gas.org site for Ontario, it has mainly Shell gas listed but unfortunately no Shell stations have non ethanol gas anymore. I believe that ended in early 2023. I don¡¯t know about unbranded stations. The ones listed in Ontario like Alderville and Curve lake are on Indian reservations so maybe? Gas sells for 40% less on there¡¯s and you can buy untaxed smokes and weed there too! But you need a status card.
