From what I understand (from the old Yahoo group) the W's original equipment was designed to tolerate ethanol since it's been a thing in Asia and Europe longer than in North?America. Age is probably the bigger issue??
Not sure if Wired George is still around - he was the world's authority?on Kawasaki carburetors back in the day. His website looks to be active still. He's also a genuinely nice and generous guy who's happy to answer questions so I'd definitely consider reaching out to him.
