Re: Holes in left side air box?
开云体育May not make a noticeable difference in running. The W is very
forgiving in the way the carbs are set up. I wouldn't think it would be counter
productive.

Re: Trail rear tyres (like Triumph Scrambler) retaining handling (or 17" rim?)
How about a Pirelli MT 90 Scorpion A/T (4.10 -18 M/C 60R)?

They show this size at I have a set of these on my Husky TE610 and they are great on the pot-holed rubble they call 'streets' where I ride. They also are the OEM tires on the KTM 950 Adventure. Bill E. Columbus, OH ----- Original Message -----

Hi Folks A long shot, but I could do with some advice! Having bought my W on 7yr old Kaccolade tyres, and cutting down mudgd etc for a more Scrambler look, I fitted Trail Wing tyres: on the front, the same one as the new Bonnie Scrambler, but limited choice at the back due to 18" rim. Chose a TW 302 (130/80 18MC 66S rated). Looks brilliant - very very knobbly indeed! Spent last summer playing in Germany, Cz, Slovalia, Poland, Netherlands, and also at home in Scotland. Handling great compared to knackered OE tyres. But I've been cautious with big leans, and think it could poss be better. I'd like a more road oriented tyre, but keep a trailie look if I can (eg sort of thing fitted to BMW trailies). But 18" is a struggle. Only options appear to be TW 302 as present, or Michelin T63 (P rated, 93mph). The T63 looks very knobbly too. Anyone got any experience? If I keep the W for a while (and I've sold my T140, so I prob will), I'm thinking of getting the wheel rebuilt with a 17" rim...lots of tyre choice then! Or is that a bit extreme? Re: Holes in left side air box?
Dennis,
The holes are probably on the right side as well, I just haven't checked yet. Could this "better breathing" be counter productive for the stock mufflers? I think the holes were drilled because the previous owner was using after market mufflers. .--- In W650riders@..., "Dennis J. decreased. Happened a lot when it was new.

开云体育Sometimes in an effort to get better breathing holes were
drilled in both left and right sides, two 1" holes each side being popular. This
was done instead of removing the snorkel from inside the airbox. Strange that
you only found them on the left, unless it was an effort to balance out the two
sides. Never heard of that one before.

The link shows a map of where I went,?use the
arrows to move arround, go left till you hit the coast.
I live in Greymouth, I?went south to Kumara
Junction then inland and followed the road marked 73 to
Arthurs Pass and then on a bit to the Bealey Spur
marked on the map. Coming home I turned off
at Jacksons and came back around Lake
Brunner.

I just had a play with the map, the satellite view
and zoom is really cool. I found my house.

The highest mountain in the southern alps is Mount
Cook at about 12,000ft??
It is spring here, ?so hope to get in some
warmer riding as I have only owned the bike through the winter.

Re: turn signal wiring problem
After hours of fiddling, I finally got everything working. I didn't
know there was a 30 amp fuse hiding under the bundles of wires underneath the left side cover. Replacing that got my power back. I then got all the signals working. My dual filaments worked fine in the back, I just wired both positives to the bikes positive. --- In W650riders@..., "Nelson Arblaster" <narblaster75@...> wrote:

Luggage Rack and Left side carb needle WTD
William Silver
I am a new owner and searching for an OEM luggage rack, plus wondered
if anyone has a spare Left side needle, if you installed a jet kit from someone else. I got the right side shimmed up with 2 shims, but it would seem that getting a new left side needle will help balance out things without all the shimming work required. Bill Silver |

Re: Better source for luggage rack?

So are you getting the side - saddle bag givi cases? Or just a rear
luggage rack that you'll bungie something to it? I'm looking now - as I need at least enough storage for my trip to the local game store I used to do on my old scoot - 2-4 dvds and assorted junk. Perhaps a tank bag? I'm having zero luck finding the perfect solution. --- In W650riders@..., "john gary simpson" <eustisgary@...> wrote:
