I've seen that the hose is longer and the K&N tucked up higher where the airbox used to be. Maybe that will help.

I've fitted individual air filters on each carb, so the hose that lead
to the airbox (which no longer exists) from the crankcase has been cut
short and fitted with a neat little K&N filter. The set up looks good,
but an oil mist sometimes gets blown out of the filter--mostly when
I'm running hard. This makes a mess of the nearby parts.

Any ideas on how to eliminate, reduce, or redirect this blow-by?

I absolutely love the whole nod/smile/horn thing. I think I'll give it a whirl, and add a wink of the eye too. Who knows, it just might be the charm that's needed. I'll let you know the results,

Perhaps you should have a scooter as a second bike - it sounds fun.? And you could get the biggest possible "My other bike's a Harley" sticker for it....

I've just come back from my first scooter ride as going back to work tomorrow after the accident. It's fantastic, when I came back I couldn't believe I found it difficult the first 5 minutes in my street here, it's great. And accelerates better than a geared 125 from memory but that might have been me at the time :-)

I find myself thinking if I dont have to do anything else but no that's it just brake and off again. No checking for neutral no nothing.

I managed to get a nod of 1 proper biker (cruiser) not sure if the guy recognised me but i know him from commuting in the morning. For the rest i saw loads of harleys who of course i didn't nod at, and then came the difficult bit there were other scooters, what do i do now, nod? at a scooter?? have managed it once ( a nice vespa) but nothing came back my way. Maybe it's not such a friendly community.

I think there's luggage space for 5 rucksacks instead of 1!

always change over to email. If you'd like any help with it, feel free to ask Dick, Dennis, or me anytime!

Jim Hudson

Though not the Kawasaki bags, I got my 5 Stars side case mounts for
$171 (inc. shipping) here:

mgiToken=1G75TC7G1GR78&bike=Kawasaki

My mounts are what 5 Stars call Cruiser Mounts and are constructed of
flat sheet steel which results in a slightly narrower arrangement
than their all-tubular design.

I got both of my Givi E21 cases for $163 (inc. shipping) here:

Photos are under JH from OH in the Photos section. I have been
extremely happy w/ these cases and switch them back and forth between
the W and my KLR650. They actually hold as much as my BMW bags that
cost over twice as much. For day to day use, I like the top opening
bags better than the suitcase design. At $334 delivered to my door,
they were reasonably priced.

Through the kind assistance of Dick Tym, I've found a set in
Germany
but... the seller, Silverneck in Germany gets about $750 US, plus
or
minus depending on the exchange rate for the combo. This is bit
spicy for my budget.

Does anyone know of another source in any country that will ship to
the US (without the price of an upper and lower limb)?

Are there any large shops that might have one sitting in the
storeroom? Are there any places that deal in used or discontinued
items in your area?

Thanks,

Willyboy

In many cases it's simply nervousness. Many buy a Harley because
it's the "in" thing to do, and they can barely ride it. They're not
about to take a hand off the grip, or even break their concentration
to nod. Give them time. Most will wave once they're comfortable,
unless they quickly tire of riding and find another "in" thing to do,
such as horses...--- In W650riders@..., david berman
<dvdberman@...> wrote:

No nods from "harleys"? Seems more often than not I've noticed
that's the case regardless of what you're on. Really now!

Could someone please shed some light on what's with that myopic
down the road stare? Is it elitism or just a lack etiquette?

Apologies in advance to those H riders falling outside of the
aforementioned 'no-nods'.

Most Cordially,

David

I put the stock mufflers back on, as I cant rejet right now and I was going to have to take them off soon anyway to put back on the triumph.? They were a little on the loud side also.? The stocks are brutally quieter.

The 30 amp fuse is under the left side cover.? It is about in the middle of the mass of wire connectors.? If you follow the positive lead from the battery into the left side cover you will see where it terminates into a fuse compartment.? There is a pink snap on lid that covers it.? That is where the 30 amp fuse goes.? I disconnected all my wire connectors to access it easier.
