Changing the Finger Server text

I am very perplexed and hope someone can point out where I can make a change to stop the following happening!
I have changed the Finger server text in both the UiView32.ini file and the UInws.ini file and in both files click on SAVE to save the changes.
I even reopen the files to check that the finger server information did not change!

As soon as I start Uiview32 both of these files revert to the original server information so that I see the following lines in both files,

[WXSVR]
TITLE=WxSvr
FQDN=wxsvr.net
FQDN-wx.aprs-is.net

Yes I deleted the line FQDN=wxsvr.net but it reinserts itself!

I am running Uiview32 in Admin mode and Uiview is on the C Drive outside of the program folder.
This problem exists on 2 desktops and a laptop all running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Strangely a Desktop running Windows 10 in a beta version does not have this problem yet Uiview is Mounted on the C Drive in exactly the same way!

Is there a fix please? And yes I did SAVE changes made in both files!
Thanks in advance

File - Posting guidelines

The UI-View Group is very active. Most already do so,
but here are some some guidelines to follow.

1. Civility... this is practiced well by our members!

2. Sign your messages with your name and callsign.

3. Only post messages and responses that are relevant to UI-View.

4. Use plain text for messages sent to the UI-View support list.
When you address some 5000 recipients, you cannot know what their
email readers do with HTML formatted messages. Some will experience
unreadability.

5. IMPORTANT: When replying to a posting (message), kindly delete
all unnecessary text including the trailing text. Only leave the
poster's name, callsign and the time stamp, and the text from
the prior message about which you are commenting, and then trim
the rest. When viewing messages in the Yahoo web based interface,
the command [Up Thread] at the top of the message can be used, and
many email clients can group messages by thread also. Some members
have slow connections or pay for bandwidth. Brevity can often
also improve the clarity of your message. Do not top post... i.e.
do not type your reply above the quoted text.

6. When replying to a post, please decide if your comment should
go to the entire group of about 5000 or directly to the author.
Please think before replying to the group... replies like "I sure
do agree with that" do not add much to the group. Send thoughts
like those directly to the poster please.

7. Postings of sale or swapping of items are not wanted.

8. New members are all moderated for a number of postings. If the
messages follow the guidelines, they are approved and the member
is changed to un-moderated status.

This is a partially moderated list, i.e., only the user's first
messages are moderated, but all messages are monitored after posting.
If an un-moderated posting is found by the moderators to have a
problem, then the poster is changed to moderated status and in
most cases also contacted directly to resolve whatever has caused
the problem.

Actions are taken against those that chronically violate the rules.
The reason for this form of moderation is to block spammers from the
list and it is working well.

9. Do not add disclaimers to your posts that (1) restrict the ability
of other members to use the information you post, (2) claim a copyright
to your post, or (3) to claim any type of "rights" as a consequence of
another member replying to your post either directly to you or to the group.

10. Do not use anti-spam tools like challenge/response; the moderators
will not respond, and since messages to you then will bounce, you most
probably will be removed as a user of the group.

File - About Bouncing (Admin message)

This message is sent to all new members, and to all members
every now and then. It has been revised as bounce reports have
changed a bit.

Any of us could experience no longer receiving email from the
UI-View support list. You might want to print this message and
review it if you stop receiving messages from the UI-View list.

If you stop receiving messages from the UI-View list, suspect
that either...

1) this or some other Yahoo group that you are a member of is
sending email which some spamblocker system regard as spam or
junk mail (quite a lot of these reports since summer 2009).

2) it may be that your email account has filled up with unread
messages or that the account on your mail server has ran out of
storage space. Read or delete the old messages on your mail server.

3) Some MSN or Hotmail accounts, and others such as arrl.net,
qsl.net which are used as a forwarding address from time to time
cannot forward to your primary address. When this hapens, the
Yahoo group receives an error message with something like
"impossible to relay to xxx" and you are then in the "bounced"
list. There are increasing numbers of bounces from some service
providers about messages which are blocked by them for policy
reasons.

4) You or your email provider have set up a challenge-and-response
system for those sending e-mail to you. The moderators will not
send replies to such challenges. You should select another
address for your list membership(s).

Sorry, but we cannot investigate every one of these blockings.
Please be aware that if you haven't received list messages
for some days, and reactivation requests are not reaching
you, or not answered by you, your account at the UI-View
list may be deleted. It may deleted if several bounces occur
in less than a week or two. It will also be deleted if the
bounce report says that your address is invalid, discontinued,
or unknown. Be aware that the bounce can relate to messages
from other lists than the UI-View list if you are a member
of other Yahoo groups.

If your membership is deleted, you will not be able to log
into the Yahoo group. If you try and send email to the group,
it will be rejected. However, you can subscribe again with a
valid and working email account by sending an empty email to
ui-view-subscribe@....

If you are away for some time, you might want to set your
account to temporarily receive only special messages or
even no email at all, but we recommend that still receive
special messages. You can log into the Yahoo group when you
return and change it back to daily digest or normal email.

Note: A member may send reactivation requests to himself/herself
from the Email Preferences section of My Groups.

73 and good luck - your UI-View group moderators

Just bring up the object editor again by right-clicking the object and choosing
"Edit Object". Clear the checkbox "Active Object" and "OK" out. The editor
will ask if you want to tell other stations to delete the object from their
maps. If you say "Yes", one last transmission is made, sending a "Kill" command
to all stations within range.

The object remains inactive in your system indefinitely. Next year, hit "F5"
again, drop down the "Identifier" list box, choose the object again and
re-check the "Active object" box again. You can have any number of objects
"hibernating" in your system; in turn they can be brought back to life (made
Active) at any time and in any combination as desired.

So far I think I am understanding your instructions but it is not showing up.
As Stephen mentioned, if you were only wanting to show one FD station to APRS users, just create an object. The INFOKIOSK advertises itself, but APRS users would have to interrogate it to see the actual FD stations. Perhaps I was reading between the lines too much, but I was thinking that you were trying to list quite a large number of FD stations.

You could e.g. have objects for the local hospital, police station, airports, train station, bus station, gas stations and so on. It could certainly store a number of FD stations, but if you were just trying to show the location of one, an object would do the job. Just click on the map at the FD location and hit F5.

All I really want this to do is locate the K8BF FD site location.
If all you want to do is make the site show up on other users' maps, then you
don't even need Info-Kiosk.

Just create an APRS object; something UIview can do without any add-ons. [An
"Object" is a position report originated by a station for a location other than
it's own.]

1) Locate the FD location on your UIview map and double-click it.

2) Press "F5" to open the Object Editor.

3) Enter the Identifier (i.e. virtual "callsign" of the object) It must follow
the usual limitations for an APRS callsign - max of 8 characters).

4) Add any comment desired.

5) Choose an APRS symbol. (Usually the "campground" tent icon is used for FD
sites.)

Check "Active Object" and "OK" out.

DONE!

Go to "Setup, Miscellaneous" and set the desired interval for object beacons.

Have printed off the instructions.

You could have the default INFOKIOSK in there or something
else. There wouldn't be anything wrong with having the'
club call sign in there, but having (something)KIOSK
would alert knowledgeable users that it was an INFOKIOSK.
If it just had a callsign in there, it may not be
apparent.

and nothing in the kiosk text. (Mainly because I have no
Idea what I can or can't put in there.) Enabled Broadcast
is checked and Default path is WIDE1-1
Having nothing in the KIOSK text won't be very useful.
It should contain instructions like...

Msg ?INFO to $CALLSIGN for commands

The INFOKIOSK needs to announce itself so people know
about it. It would be useful for it to include instructions
like to send ?INFO to get a list of the objects that it
holds. I suppose if this was just being done for Field
Day, you could have something like...

MSG ?INFO for a list of Field Day stations

Fixed stations should never use WIDE1-1. Only mobile
stations should be using that. A better one hop path
would be WIDE2-1.

Per the read-me file, place INFOKIOSK.EXE in the UI-View
installation folder. Run it and then re-start UI-View.
Under Options, have Remote Commands enabled. Having your
call sign in there would be correct. Then go ahead and
enter all of the FD stations that you know about.
However, if you make them something like FD-VE7GDH, then
when someone sends an inquiry, it will send all of the
FD stations to the person that is asking. The "broadcast"
will tell other stations that your InfoKiosk exists.

For the objects, you could have e.g. FD-1, FD-2 etc.
and include the field day call signs in the accompanying
text, or instead of FD-1 you could have something like
FD-W8RID and include the callsign in the object name.

The beauty of this is a station making an inquiry could
send ?FD- and get a list of the Field Day stations.

What do I need to do or change to get this to work?
Probably all you need to do (other than changing from
the WIDE1-1 path) is come up with the names of the objects
for the Field Day stations. For use, I would probably
name the objects like FD- followed by the actual call
sign, or FD-1, FD-2, FD-3 etc. and have the callsign
in the second line.

I just sent ?INFO to W8RID and got an ACK, but it
doesn't look like I got anything back from the
INFOKIOSK. Do you have Remote Commands enabled in
UI-View?

A wild random guess at a possible cause of your registration problem:

Are you entering your name EXACTLY the same way you submitted it to the UIview
registrars? The "magic number" you receive is based on a hash of your name as
submitted AND your callsign. If you registered with "Robert" and try to enter
"Bob" it will fail. If you registered including you middle initial and then
entered you name without the middle initial during install, it will fail.
