Maori Wars 3
Has anyone written a Sharp Practice 2 list for Maoris? Has anyone seen a good painting guide? Empress miniatures make some nice figures and I have some of the British for use in the Carlist Wars. These might make a somewhat different opponent. Ste[phen

Seelow Hts 6mm IABSM game AAR
We actually played this one back in August but I just got around to editing the pics. The scenario is based on the attack up Reichstrasse 1 by the 74th Gds Rifle Rgt and later the 104th Hvy Gds Tk Rgt The area is defended by elements of 76th PzGrd Rgt and Volkstrumm. So this game was really an excuse to get my newly finished 2D6wargaming Volkstrumm out. Lots of understrength units and loads of casualties Link to the flickr set. Clotted Lard 2022
Hi all, Last weekend saw the running of the fifth Clotted Lard in a new venue, Lympstone Village Hall in Lympstone Village, nestled on the banks of the River Exe in East Devon. As well as enjoying an afternoon Devon Cream Tea, participants were able to indulge themselves in a feast of Lard, featuring nine sets of rules played over twelve games, ranging from ancients to WWII, land, sea and air warfare, whilst also supporting a very important local charity, the Devon Air Ambulance. If you would like to see how the day went, then just follow the link to the Devon Wargames Group club blog. https://devonwargames.blogspot.com/2022/09/clotted-lard-2022.html JJ

Kokoda Trail creek crossing AAR 3
Seeing Rich's Kokoda Trail games put me in the mood to break out my Diggers. I went with a bit of hybrid scenario. 3 players using the Blitzkrieg scenario from the 1940 supplement. 1 attacking Japanese was in charge of the heavy weapons teams and the other had a normal platoon. The attacking Japanese had to get across the table before Aussie reinforcement arrived. Unknown to all the players was that there are no reinforcements. https://www.flickr.com/photos/6mmgaming/albums/72177720302177369 20mm minis and CoC rules. Thanks, Mark

6mm IABSM Rots June 11, 44 AAR 4
This was the 2nd part of the Rots June 11, 44 game. This was the actual assault into Rots by A and B Troops of the 46 RMC along with 2 and 3 Troop and the HQ tanks of the Fort Garry Horse. The town was defended by elements of 4 Kompanie, 12 SS PzGrd Rgt and the grenadiers of 1st Kompanie PzGrd Rgt 26 of the 12th SS Div. The attack would come from the NW and west side of the table (the near side) The village of LeHamel and the River Mue are off table to the west. John played the Germans and he was told that the Brits/Cdn are to the north and Nw William could bring the Commandos in from the roads on the west edge and we went with their historical route of the Chemin de la Cavee, Commandos had 2 troops and the support of 2 troops of M4s/Fireflies and 2 HQ troop M4s. The Germans had a weak company and 4 Panthers and 1 PaK 40. Link to flickr report: https://www.flickr.com/photos/6mmgaming/albums/72177720302044011/with/52352407877/ Mark

Dear all, It’s coming up to Posh Lard time, for those still interested! First off, apologies for the radio silence, which has been due to a combination of work, the heat and a much needed vacation. Hungary 1945 6mm IABSM AAR
Thought I would cool off with a winter game so set up a Hungary 45 IABSM scenario. Its inspired by the German actions to relieve Budapest in January to give me a chance to put some Tiger IIs on the table. Link to the Flickr set. 46 RMC at Le Hamel June 11, 44 2
This was going to be a two part battle, with the first contest covering the attack by 46 Royal Marine Commando and the Ft Garry Horse on the village of le Hamel on June 11, 1944. As soon as I construct a suitable graveyard I'll run the Rots battle. The 2 Commonwealth players had a troop of Shermans and 1 Commando Troop each. The defending German had a very weak 2 platoon company and 2 PaK40s. All the info for this game came from the incredible The Waist High Cornfield book by Keith Taylor Written as a tribute to his dad, Eric Taylor and other members of the 46 RMC. 6mm IABSM East of Olita game
I was in the mood to do an East Front game and hadn't gotten my Pz38ts and multitudes of T26s out lately so went with a table inspired by actions with the 7th Panzer and 3rd Mech Corp in Lithuania early in Operation Barbarossa. Almost all armor for this game-Well, 1941 standards for armor at any rate. Click on the pics to get a description. Gully Hole Creek --War of Jenkin's Ear SP game
Something a bit different and a preview of upcoming SP book. Chris Stoesen's latest has some really interesting scenarios for this mid 18th century war between the Spanish and British in the Americas. I've been waiting to get some of these toys on the table for a while now. The fights on the east coast of Georgia were small but had a nifty variety of unit types and the setting was certainly a wild one. I decided to play the Battle of Gully Hole Creek to start. John had the defending Crown forces and I took the invading Spanish. Cool mixture of uniformed militia, Scots, colonial rangers, red coated regulars and native Americans. And the fights were in some pretty messy terrain. https://www.flickr.com/photos/6mmgaming/albums/72177720298706243 Mark

Hall Burning with Dux Brit.
Here's a fun solo game. A Viking hall with an entrance at both ends. It's held by four level 3 heroes/leaders who count as elites and each as a single group. They are attacked by six groups of 6 figures - all levy, and just 2 archers who act as two single groups. The heroes in combat get their 3 dice, plus 2 for unit superiority. If they defend the doorway they are not only get bonus of being harder to hit for the building cover [i gave this to their attackers as well] but two defenders can count as a shieldwall across the doorway too. They cannot form a shieldwall in the open. The heroes take a wound if the levy get a 6 [score needed to kill an elite] and they take shock in the same way as a unit [every two points of shock reduces their combat dice by one; but they can use actions to rally themselves. Each wound reduces their level and so their combat dice. They will run if they have twice as much shock as they have wounds/levels left. The Levy have a tough job but they can set fire to the hall as per the usual rules if their is a unit next to the hall and not engaged by the defenders. The two archers are unlikely to be very effective but they can be a nuisance and encourage the heroes to come further into the open. The only good thing about Levy is all the running away may not affect the force morale too badly. Each of the groups of levy count as having a level one leader in the group [like a super numerum in Infamy]. With the cards each side was randomly dealt six cards [bibamus and portents were in the mix] and leaders [i.e. each hero and each supernumerum] could change cards by the usual rules. In my game all the levy were killed or fled, the hall was burnt, one Viking hero was killed, and another wounded once. I either need to set even more peasants against the Lords, improve my tactics and dice, or perhaps have a couple of rabble rousing priests who can rally the enormous amounts of shock suffered by the levies! Let me know here if you give it a go.

Nappy Home Alone 5
Hello My preparations for Austerlitz are nearing completion. Are there somewhere rules / mechanics for playing large Napoleonic games such as General d'Armee, Snappy Nappy or Marechal d'Empire solo? I was very impressed by the CoC solo rules in the special, but I cannot make them fit the Napoleonic era. All the Best Klaus
