Question regarding 465B "free running"
Tom Jobe
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI tried your setup on a 465B, and the AUTO trace was within
one small division of being centered.
I can't see why it would matter to me where it was on the
screen, other than to please my symmetric mind.
A look at the service manual may show you if an adjustment is
available for this issue.
Nice scope that 465B!

I did a cursory look through the manual for this but didn't see anything. Quite a lot of info there so may have missed it (if it's even there).

I just wasn't sure if an off-centered auto trace might be indicative of other possible problems. Thanks, Barry - N4BUQ --- In TekScopes@..., "Tom Jobe" <tomjobe@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe behavior of your scope directly depends on the accuracy of
your low voltages and their ripple levels, so have a good
look at your low voltages before you come to any conclusions.
Give the Tekscopes group a day or two, maybe someone will know
something about?your question.
There is a?lot of good knowledge on these Tekscopes
groups.

I would not be surprised if there is excess ripple as I'm pretty sure all the caps are original.
