eBay scope
Craig Sawyers
Interesting and good price rare item lurking on eBay at the moment. A 7514
storage scope - I had no idea that Tek did split screen storage into the 7000 series until I saw this. 90MHz bandwidth. Anyway with an interesting set of plug ins, he has it on for $75 buy-it-now. Item number is 3802548425 Craig |

I've had main come to Sawyer, Saywer, Saywers, Saunders, Swyear, Sowear etc etc. My off the cuff reply when someone on the phone asks how to spell my name is to say "Like Tom, but with an S on the end", but it seems that the adventures of Tom Sawyer isn't a standard text at school these days... nailed down, so that it is lower half of PROM that is read. As for 2764, that is a different proposition because it is 28 pin DIP (four pins more than 2716 or 2732), but doing a jerry rig to translate pins would make it usable. You have also to watch programing voltage. Some of early PROMs used 21V, then came 15 V, then 12 V. You can program 12V device on 15V programmer setting, but there is no promise that device will not be damaged. Another consideration is speed, but as densities went up, so did the speed. If PCB is poorly decoupled, higher speed might work against you, but that is not very likely to happen. Regards Miroslav Pokorni ----- Original Message -----

I have a favorite eBay search for (Techtronics, Tektronics, Techtronix). These listings tend to go for less, since a lot of potential buyers fail to search for mispellings. ;) -Howard P.S. 7000 series PI interface
Craig Sawyers
Hi all
I'm building up a pair of flexible extenders for the 7000 series (because the price is stratospheric on eBay), and was wondering why all but three connections are made end to end when so few seem to be used by any one plug-in. Starting from the list on Mark Kahrs site, which has a lot of connections listed as not used, I've built up a more complete picture. Most of the seemingly not used connections are used for the GPIB interface for the programmable plug-ins (7A16P, 7A29P and 7B90P), and for additional +5.1V/-5.2V supplies. Anyway, if anyone would like a copy of the file (Excel) let me know and I'll pass it on. Cheers Craig |

phillips scopes???
Just given a solid state Phillips scope - good condx EXCEPT none of the
half-turn dzus type quick release fasteners that fasten the cabinet top and bottom to the scope chassis work. The screw heads turn, but they don't "grab" on anything... If anybody on the list has any experience with Phillips scopes pls contact me off-line... Many Thanks Fred
Christian
Dear Fred
Thanks to you and the other members for the good advice. No need to worry I have not been offended by the comments and am glad of the correction. I have also corrected the spelling on the web site. I have never used a Tek scope before. They were always out of my price range when I was younger. So I had to make do with a telequipment. I have a 100Mhz Hewlet Packard 1740A and one of the new Fluke Digital combi scopes. I really don't like the Fluke digital scope its for ever trying to be helpful by changing ranges, but usually gets it wrong. I am looking for all valve scope next. Since I am doing a lot of work with high voltage power supplies and believe that valve technology it a bit more tolerant than the modern stuff. I was reading about the comments on lethality of high voltage. I used to work on laser scanning systems but now in the rail industry. I often worked on 15Kv and 450 Volts Dc. Don't get much chance of the MCB tripping either since its rated a 44k Amp. Best regards Christian. |
