Re: yet more 465M musings, and the evil 434
However, I wouldn't fault Tek and the "rookies" too much on some of
these issues. Don't forget that the 7000-series and TTL grew up
together, so they were working on the bottom of the learning

Re: 7L14 YIG
Make sure your YIG is being biased properly, or it won't have any output.
These things are usually rated around 20 MHz per mA of tuning current, and
until you have 2 GHz worth of "current" flowing

7L14 YIG
Hi All,
Ive got a used 7L14 Spectrum Analyser plugin with 1 remaining serious problem.
The 1st local oscillator in that unit is a YIG (Yttrium Iron Garnet

Re: More on my Tektronix 545B

I followed this discussion for a while. I have a 1A1 manual

that was a reliable connector.

Hi Jose,
I would agree that it looks like a power supply problem. You should be able to
find the test points for the power supplies on a ceramic strip on the upper

Hi, Jeff,
What you have is a normal artifact that is found on any Tek scope
that has a CRT with an internal scan expansion mesh. This mesh is in

Re: More on my Tektronix 545B
Hi Jose,
It looks like the power supply isn't regulating properly and has
ripple on it.
I'd check the supply lines for ripple if you've got another CRO. Probably

It is not really a shadow cause it is light rather than dark, but that is
