Re: PAYING FOR GROUPS.IO
I send money to friends and family through PAY PAL and there are no charges to the sender as far as I can see. I have sent my son and others many hundreds of $$$ over the years without a fee. All

Yes. I've seen pictures of them with both German and Russian labelling, but no other languages, even here in Poland. I have some German-language instruction manuals which have pencil annotations in

Re: New acquisition: Soviet 7000-series copies
Interesting that the MF and installed plugins are german while the
others have cyrillic writing.
I can already see one thing that the Russians improved: the latch won't break.

I've put a couple of quick photos of the ensemble on the workshop floor into the album "Soviet 7000-series copies":

Re: New acquisition: Soviet 7000-series copies
Yes, it is, as far as I can see. Having spent a few minutes playing around with it, it seems that the sampling timebase has no ability to free-run or obtain an internal trigger signal. It needs an

Re: New acquisition: Soviet 7000-series copies
Fascinating find, is the pulse generator intended to go with the sampling units? It would be interesting to find out what sort of performance the Soviets were achieving.

New acquisition: Soviet 7000-series copies
Just yesterday I picked up the latest addition to my Tek-related collection of equipment: an actual example of the Soviet-era Tek 7000 series copies. These come up for sale from time to time in

Yup. I'm a member of the Racal RA17 and Marconi lists and a couple of others I forget because there
is no activity whatever.
It is a red letter day when there is a post to the Racal and Marconi

Scope Cases
Hi Gang:
I would like to purchase cases for 485 scopes. The dimensions are: Length 15 3/8". width 10". height 6 3/8". Cases from other 4XX series of scopes would not work as the dimensions are

My 1cent...
Paypal slightly preferable, fleabay acceptable.
I don't care if Paypal takes a cut. If I contribute, say, $5, then I don't care how much is wasted. $5 would be far less than the value I

Just my two cents:
Ask the people of groups.io if it is possible to have two "sticky" messages always on top of the list so new users and existing users too can read.
First explain the basics of how

I see we've already had an offer of server space so why not set up a "pledge" page to start with? We go along and put our names on the list to certify we will donate (say $1).
We then have an idea of
