Paypal slightly preferable, fleabay acceptable.
I don't care if Paypal takes a cut. If I contribute, say, $5, then I don't care how much is wasted. $5 would be far less than the value I receive from other people's postings!
I don't care if someone makes a modest profit. Basically I trust the individuals involved to Do The Right Thing.
If every "member" contributed $1, then it wouldn't run out in my lifetime :)
