Im looking to form component leads.

Re: Duplicate Messages and messages without previous context

For those that are receiving duplicate messages. Is your email client putting the TekScopes messages in its own folder? If so, your client may be saving your sent message to that same folder. Someone on another list I'm on just encountered that and tracked it down to his own email client. Maybe that's what others are experiencing...

To everybody,
You are not alone. I also find duplicate emails annoying and I find the
emails without any previous context to be frustrating.

I sent in a request to Groups.io technical support earlier today asking why
both of these problems are occurring and what can be done about them.

It's odd. I'm on a number of groups.io lists and the only time I've ever
seen a dupe was when someone resent their own message. But on every one of
those lists there are a few people that have complained about getting dupes.

Yes David. I saw the work Michael Damkier did to his 453 and it was absolutely beautiful. Made me realize some things. #1 slow down and make it as pretty as you can. I have been doing much better with taking my time and making sure things are as right (looking) as I can make them. My pride level goes up a notch when I finish a job and the end result is not just working but also pretty to look at.

Re: tek part number Prefixes

Dennis,

According to the list on the Wiki, 119- comprises "Assemblies". The most comprehensive list of Tek prefixes I have come across is here: (Thanks Kurt)

Shaun Merrigan

tek part number Prefixes

Does anyone know what category has the 119 prefix assigned to it as in part
number 119-4701-05

And that raises the more general question Is there a complete list of part
number prefixes and the category they are assigned to available somewhere?

Examples:

067-xxxx-yy are test fixtures and/or calibration fixtures

151-xxxx-yy are transistors

152-xxxx-yy are diodes

156-xxxx-yy are integrated circuits

160-xxxx-yy are programmed ICs

151-xxxx-yy are semiconductors

378-xxxx-yy are lamps

Re: I would like some input on a good wire forming tool.

If you are looking at doing bus-bar work, such as in some 1920's radios, firms that supply tools for the wire jewelry hobby/trade might be a good place to look. My wife was making some things out of silver wire and I noticed she was using several pair of specialized pliers, one with round pin tips for forming loops, that might have bus-bar forming applications.

Stan Griffith's Tektronix resource site (at reprise.com) seems to be not responding.

Does anyone else have this problem?

PS does anyone know how Stan is? I know he had some health problems about a year ago.

Re: c-clip pliers

The internal/external snap ring pliers I use for automotive & all purpose situations are Crescent brand, and they've not failed me to date. They came with an assortment of hardened steel tips of various sizes, including 90 degree ones. They've served me much, much better than ones with fixed tips, of which I've broken several. You can adjust the reach of the tips by loosening the set screw and sliding the tips out. Those things have saved me in numerous situations where I needed to reach into a bearing assembly to remove the snap ring. IIRC, they were about 30 USD at Lowe's, but well worth the money. I imagine the McMaster-Carr, Irwin, and Craftsman ones are very similar.
They're also my go-to tool for removing/installing 10 turn dials.

Let me know if my posts are coming thru twice to anyone's email client. I always use the Groups.io interface to post.

Anyone know the manufacturer of BSM connectors used in several Tektronix plug-ins?

Re: BSM connectors

Gary,

The ones I have seen were made by Amphenol, and this is borne out in some of the equipment parts lists referenced here:

Surplus Sales of Nebraska has them:

Fair Radio Sales in Ohio used to carry them but I don¡¯t see them listed on the website.

I have occasionally seen the BSM/MB to BNC Adapter cable on eBay. Perhaps other group members have sources?
