Thank you; your pics are helpful, of course. My motors looks a bit different but it seems the bushings assemblies are similar. How did you remove the metal end cap / retainer? Best regards, Sebastian. On Sat, March 31, 2018 5:42 pm, Shaun M wrote:

Re: Duplicate Messages
FWIW, I receive the list via regular e-mail using Thunderbird and have not been getting duplicates since the move. In the past I was getting duplicates from some Yahoo groups for a time. I think not now. Yahoo seems to have stopped sitting on their hands and fixed some problems. Too late to prevent a bunch of clients from moving.

I use the Thunderbird email client under windows.? I only see the email bounced back from groups.io in my Inbox. There is a copy of my original message in the Sent items box.? There must be another reason only some people are having this issue.

500-series fan motor disassembly.
Hi there,
In this corner, just proceeding to clean some 500-series scopes' fan motors. There is very good advice in the list's archives, particularly from Stan Griffiths. My question: What is a recommended way to remove the metal end caps of the bushing assembly? Of course, will also need advice for a way to later put then again in place. Regards, Sebastian. |

Well, during the reconnoitering to figure out where the black wire would be reconnected... the already too short red (actually, orange) wire broke yet again!? Now, it is too short to solder to. Why didn't Tek put a plug on the back of this fan?????? With all the extraordinarily well designed wiring in this scope, I can't wrap my head around them making it IMPOSSIBLE to remove this fan motor for maintenance!!!? #@%&*
Anybody have a 147-0027-00 fan motor, or a suggestion? Phil |

Slightly longer 6-32 screws are necessary. I unsoldered the leads from pins 14 and 16 and put them in series with the new fuses. I also added LED's each in series with a 1K resistor around the fuse block contacts. Now if the fuse blows the LED lights. A rectifier in series with the LED is not necessary as the voltage across the LED is AC. Reed Dickinson On 3/31/2018 9:28 AM, Matthew Hofmann wrote: Rolynn, that are in your unit?

Re: Duplicate Messages
It's odd. I'm on a number of groups.io lists and the only time I've ever seen a dupe was when someone resent their own message. But on every one of those lists there are a few people that have complained about getting dupes.

When you reply to the groups from your email provider for instance yahoo.com, rather than at the groups.io website, Yahoo (or whatever you use) records the message you sent, but groups.io also sends you the message you just sent as if someone else had posted it. People who do post from the groups.io website rather than their email address might prefer their posts to be sent to their email address, so there is some reasoning for this. However it's a pain for the users who want to use groups.io the same way they used the Yahoo group. Groups.io errs on the side of having a redudant copy rather than potentially having missing post records. If you want to stop it you can click the link at the bottom of the other person's post that says "view/reply online". This will take you right to a page on groups.io where you can reply (you might have to sign in if you don't have the site set to recognize you automatically). I don't know of a way get around the duplication issue when sending posts using email. Allow me to suggest www.mcmaster.com<> (McMaster Carr). They offer a variety of sizes under ¡°snap ring pliers¡± and ¡°fixed tip retaining ring pliers¡± Additionally Amazon offers a 4 piece mini snap ring pliers set for about $9.00. Seller: JR Quality Tools (no affiliation) Looking through Amazon, there are numerous snap ring pliers and sets. Good shopping!
