I answer to myself if it can be of help to someone:
The problem is given by the "Running" in Voltage Reference.
(Shift - Utility - Cal menu)
Normally it should be "Pass" if the test pass or "Fail" if the test don't pass.
I have always and in any case "Running".
It is not a acquisition board defect: I replaced it with a fully functional and nothing has changed.
I tried to replace the DY1650Y of another TDS524: I always have "Running".
Did I have a corrupt firmware on the Flash?
I have the firmware of another TDS524A on file but I don't have the program to flash it through the GPIB.

After repairing all the usual faults typical of this family of oscilloscopes, now it passes quietly all the tests and the SPC.
Then I tried to run the calibration with the Field Adjustment Software.
The DSO is correctly seen by this program, but trying to run the first test (Voltage Reference)

Working please wait
Voltage reference test
Application test returned error
ERROR STRING IS NOT SET
Aborting sequence

The TSD524A from now is locked and I have to turn it off and on again.
The DSO, after "working please wait", receives commands properly and prepares the CH2 for the measures.
I ran the following sequence:
SPC
clearerr
Field Adjustment Software
Oscilloscope firmware is v.3.8.2.e and FAS version is 1.6
I have
SIGNAL PATH = PASS
Voltage Reference = Running (is this normal?)
Frequency Response = PASS
Pulse Trigger = PASS

As soon as an Adjustment is started the Menu changes to Running.
If the particular Adjustment is interupted or not all Adjustments
within the current section are finished the menu will continue to
show Running. The only way to change it to Pass is to successfully
finish all adjustments within the section.
