I too have a 3S76/3T77 (non-A) combo that I'll soon be tackling.

I'd mentioned here before that I'm working on a 564, and some may recall I was looking for extenders. I now have a pair of extenders, one rigid and one flexible, thanks to folks here. This weekend, they allowed me to repair (replaced two Nuvistor valves/tubes and two transistors and deoxed all switches and pots) and calibrate a 3A6 dual-trace plugin -- including replacing dud cal neon bulbs with red LEDs, something I'd wanted to try for a while. The result is excellent and visually similar to factory neons. My other conventional vertical plugin -- a 3A3 dual-trace differential dual-trace plugin -- has not gone so well. After replacing four Nuvistors and two trimpots and cleaning the attenuator switches, I determined the corrosion on the attenuator switches caused by two leaky electrolytics was too serious to repair -- at least, easily -- and I've put it back on the shelf for future work. Channel 2 functions adequately. Channel 1 is non-functional from about 50 millivolts on down. I'll be starting on the 3S76/3T77 combo shortly, for an undefined value of "shortly." -----Original Message-----
