Re: Tek 2440 initial troubleshooting

Hi,

I have two Tekmates, and both of them came with software, including one
with something called DITS, which seem to be some quite complex software to
analyze signal integrity for various high speed (then....) digital
communicatios. Is there anyone familiar with it?

I could get it off the Tekmate, I just need to install a USB floppy
emulator, as I was unable to get the floppy working on either of them. I'm
actually very puzzled, I have tried 4 different drives, and none of them
works with any of the Tekmates, and just cannot figure out why. A floppy
emulator works just fine, so it is not the floppy controller, and I could
really not imagine that all 4 of my drives are faulty in exactly the same
way. The start the read/write but fail. Trying to format fails with bad 0
track and the disk is ruined (needs to be reformatted). This is independent
of what i set in the motherboard setup as floppy type. But, maybe, I need
to try it with a 5th drive...

When you get it running I have a web page on the Tekmate with
software, hardware manual links, etc.

Did your tekmate come with software? Most of them don't.
Tracking down the dso app took me forever.

Here's a link to the webpage:

Ignore the coming soon links, I'm not doing any more work on it. I got
buried under a ton of other projects and I think it would be better to
turn a rasberry pi into a tekmate equivalent when I get back to it.

Hi all,
Got a 2440 w/ attached Tekmate 2402A and the scope appears partially
dead. (I detached the Tekmate until the scope is up and running.)

S/N is B016685. Graticle lights up when the power button is depressed,
Trig'd/Ready/Arm and Slope +/- lights will flash momentarily then the top
two will remain lit after some relay cycling occurs. All three GPIB lights
are illuminated. There is no trace on screen. Pressing the various Trigger
Select buttons do not change Trigger parameters.
I'd read that the scope remembers its last state upon power-off and that
the Status/Select buttons could be pressed to bring up a 65% intensity
display. Tried that; no dice.
Is there something else I'm missing before I go diving into this thing
and examining the power supply? Seller advertised that it wouldn't power
up, though it has a calibration sticker with 9/26/18 affixed to the
case...so I'm assuming it worked as recently as last year.
Appreciate any tips.
